OGSO rule change

For those in OGSO, I received an email from Keith Ritchie, V.P. of OGSO -

Pitching distances for B league (12u) will be 40 feet and for C league (14u) will be 43 feet.

One rule change that needs to take place in the OGSO is bith dates. They need to change them to the same as tourney teams. Jan 1 instead of setting them like a local rec league.

I don't have control over the rules, but I think they do that to try and keep girls in the same grade together.

Alright, I'll be the first to ask......What is OGSO?

I am guessing that the SO is for Softball Organization.

It is a Rec league with I believe parts of 4 or 5 counties.

Ohio Girls Softball Organization. Warren is correct. It is a rec league. Much of Trumbull, Portage, some of Mahoning, some of Lorain Counties. And a few from Geauga.

43 feet for this rec league is going to hurt alot of teams. We will be fine. Already pitch from 43.

I don't think the extra 3 feet is going to hurt many of those girls. B league will be the big change since they have been at 35 feet and especially if they don't know the rule change until early spring and then have to try and adjust.

It's about time they change this rule- pitching 50+ mph from 35 feet against 12u's that can smack the ball with their CF4 always made me nervous as a pitcher's mom....
