I know this topic has probably been beaten to death, but I searched and couldn't find anything. Probably wasn't searching for the right key words.
The rules are pretty clear on when a player can and cannot participate with her summer team (non- scholastic team) but what if her summer coach is her individual hitting, pitching, and or defensive coach. I see they added language that states that a player can received individual instruction as long as it doesn't violate school board/administrative policies or the ORC, but it is still unclear if the instructor is allowed to be her summer coach. The language in the rule book seems to suggest that the prohibition is from participation in an "organizational or team" event, but that's a little fuzzy.
Thoughts?
I also have another one as I type this. Do the contact time frame limitations for a school coach to coach his school players out of season apply to a situation where his only school player is his daughter? On a personal note, I think all school should have a policy of not allowing parent coaches, but that's a different discussion for another day.
Thanks!
