There are plenty of great coaches out there that don't take compensation for what they do. My personal opinion is that some paid coaches, and or teams that are out to make a profit are tarnishing what this is supposed to be about, and that of course is the girls.

Off Parma Wildcats web site for 2011,

Come join the new direction the Parma Wildcats are taking the players and coaches to become better equipped to play ball in 2011. Coaches Maybe interviewed by the President, Vice President and Head of Coaches to make sure qualitiy coaches are picked for the teams. Coaches will need to be in place before tryouts, so they may hand pick their teams.

Coaches with no familiy ties to the team will receive Pay for their time and costs.

Very interesting, They also raised their FEES by 215.00. I guess to cover the cost of having PAID coaches...

Wow, Someone is bitter, and maybe jealous? :p

Coaches pay is ONLY for Hotel cost for tournaments out of town..

Fee increase, which is included in their fees:
#1 CYRSTAL BUSTOS and HOWARD CARRIER Hitting Camp for all of our girls.
#2 BILL HILLHOUSE Pitching Camp for 3 pitchers per team, for our girls.
#3 CYRSTAL BUSTOS Coaches Clinic for 4 coaches per team, for our girls.
#4 More indoor practice time per team, for our girls.
#5 Money added to have the AKRON RACER'S come and run indoor practices, for our girls.

Now I must ask you Bodacious, how many orgs offer these OUTSTANDING things included in their fees of ONLY $600.00..;&

:mad:DON'T ever say we do not do everything we can for the girls. IT'S all about the girls and how much we can offer them to help them become better players.

When you paid $1200.00 to play for that other org, in the Parma Area did you get these things from them...:yahoo::yahoo::lmao::lmao:

Hijack here . . . maybe we should get the Bear to put in a change so that anything close to Crystl comes out with the proper spelling of her name. J/k. Sounds like you guys are offering some awesome perks to your team players in exchange for $215.

This year (2010) your tournament made your Organization over 8-10 thousand or more dollars, Your wing/raffle night dinner also made you thousands of dollars. Rental fees charged to other organizations for the use of your home run fences, All workers at your tournament was on the backs of the players parents, no city workers fees, Fields were free, no rental fees to city. The list gets bigger, But you get the point I'm sure.;&

Now, your charging 600.00 per player and NO uniforms for the 2011 season. and the returning player/parents didn't see this coming. WOW!!!
Sounds like the classic rip off of the hard earned moneys the parents make, and your exploiting the girls to do this..:mad:WOW:mad:!!!

The organization also legally has to open their books up. It is public record. So anybody (PARENT) would get to see how your Organization manages their money and also see what was carried over....;&

Would Love to see your books (the other books;))for being a non profit organization!!!!!!!:lmao:;&:lmao:

You are not even close to any of the figures you just gave, and you have no clue. Yes are books are open, So Chris you may go to our treasure Karen and ask to see them, a treasure's report is give at every meeting.

You forget umpire fees alone are $14,000 for our tournament. The homerun derby cost us $1500.00 out of our pocket. Balls were around $1200.00, tee shirts for champions and runners up were around $1200.00 and so on. Field rental you are right there is none, but a donation of $1000.00 is more or less expected to P.A.A.F. check with them they will tell you that we pay it every year at their fall meeting...

Wing ding money was the fundraiser for the players fees, which reduced what they paid out of there pocket in players fees. Rental fee's for home run fences was a total of $300.00, go ask the MC Madness which is the only org to rent them...

As far as the returning parents not seeing the fee increase coming, again you have no clue as this was discussed at one of our spring meetings..

And if you want to even try to say that our org has 2 books, as you put it. I will be more then happy to SUE you for slander, and not to mention the treasure's husband all 300lbs of him might what to talk to you face to face...

Don't be sore because #1 we choose not to have you return as one of our coaches, and #2 because your DD did not make our 16u team...

I've talked to Todd on many occasions and he seems like a very stand up guy who IS in it for the girls. You seem like you are attacking on a pretty personal level. Those are some harsh accusations to be throwing around over a lost coaching job.

Bodacious,

First off, you have a cool avatar!

Second, you have been on OFC with this screen name and posting from 8-9 until now and on several occasions you are on Parma's case.

I have no dog in this fight but you seem to have personal issues that should not be aired on a public forum. JMO! The costs for playing softball add up quick these days and to charge $600 with the extra's the PW are offering seems like a good value to me.

Ladies and gentlemen... You will notice the quintessential jilted parent in the above post. Someone who thinks the grass is always greener in the next organization, then the next organization, then the next organization....etc until all bridges have been burned, blown up, and bulldozed. Everyone is out to $crew him in some way, and it is never his actions or his dd's play as the reason why they cant find a fit anywhere. This guy has zero idea of the costs involved in running an organization with over 100 players, as a matter-of-fact this guy struggled with running a single team.

Our books are open to the public, always have been, always will be. There is only one book, as my wife does not have the time or energy to keep more than that. You are more than welcome to come over and review it. You know where I live, you have been to my house. I am not 100% sure who you are, but I am 100% sure between two options. You think you are being slick with the nom de plume (that means pen name, don't bother looking it up) but you are not very slick at all. When you stop by, be sure to bring your business books as well. Maybe you run your business with two books, but I assure you there is only one with the Wildcats, and there are no discrepancies (that means false or misleading information, don't bother looking that up either).

This organization was nothing but accommodating to you and your dd over the last year. It is unfortunate that you feel the need to make these accusations on this public forum in this manner. I feel sorry for the next organization that your dd is playing for because of you. In the immortal words of Motley Crue "Don't go away mad, Just go away!"

I just spoke with a parent out here in Spokane tonight who was thrilled that the team fee was "only" $750. And they play probably fewer tournaments than most Ohio teams and that fee includes no travel costs. The only teams out here charging less than that are teams that maybe play the local league and 2-3 tournaments. The top organizations charge between $1,500 and $2,500 and pay their top head coaches.

Todd, it's 285 lbs now, thank you very much!:D And this guy needs to worry more about the 1** lb treasurer that is ready to come through the screen at him. (If I put her actual weight on here, that aggression would turn on me)

I would agree, except no one recieves any pay at all. This year non-parent coaches will have their hotel bills paid by us, thats all...This idiots comments were way out of line and uncalled for...just because they are mad or upset they decide to throw around these slanderous comments..

This is an example of a problem parent that had also been a coach...And this is why he and his DD are gone..

If any team wants to know who this is, so they can watchout for them, PM me and i will tell the coach / team who this is...

John, can I get half of what you get then? You're taller so that means your pay scale is higher. :cap:

I spoke to a former Ohio State player who is now a cental Ohio high school coach. She has started her own travel organization to help girls in her area develop. She said her goal was to have young former college players that know the game but are energetic and excited coach her teams. So she fundraises and works hard at the finances so she can pay for these coaches hotels. Otherwise they may not be "inclined" or financially able to be with the teams for all the tournaments. I was very impressed with her and her organization, and I can see why there could be a need to help out the coaches. Especially if they're non-parent coaches.

Amen, and this is why most non-parent coaches do not coach when there is extra money coming out of their pocket.

Todd, I neither care who the parent is or whether the coach was actually getting paid.

While we were at Nationals, we saw/played against several teams who had paid, non-parent coaches. $occer routinely has non-parent, paid club coaches.

My only point is - you pay for lessons, you pay for clinics, you pay for tournaments - if a coach can benefit the team and org(s) are willing to pay for his/her service, then the rules of supply and demand apply. And to rcpae point, payment can come from many sources - sponsorships, fundraisers, fees, etc...

What you need is to get someone to start a bidding war for you... I'll start the bidding at $$$... :)
