Question for Bretman: Runner missed base

Bases loaded, two outs. Batter hits to the gap in right field. Runner from first base misses the bag at second. Play is finished with batter standing on third base (3 runs in). I appeal the missed bag and runner is appropriately called out. How many should have scored? Umpire allowed 2.

No runs should have scored.

The missed base was one to which the runner was forced. When the appeal was made, it would be treated as a force out. Since this was the third out, no runs can score (same as when any other inning ends on a force out).

That's what we argued but it didn't make a real difference in the game so we didn't protest. Thanks for the quick response!
