The org is still alive, they're just rebranding themselves as USA Softball. You may notice some web site links no longer work.
I didn't find any posts on here about the changes passed at the National Convention, so I started this one. Here are the biggest changes I noticed:
- Regions have been consolidated from 15 to 10. Ohio is no longer Region 9 by itself. It is now in Region 2, Central Atlantic, with WV, MD, DE, VA and NC. An updated map is on page 2 of http://downloads.asasoftball.com/about/pdf/2016__Agenda1112016.pdf.
- The number of berths per Region for "open" National Qualifiers and "closed" Regionals have been doubled to 2 and 4 respectively.
- College players are now allowed to play 18 Gold and A.
- Pick-up player rules for Nats now allow players registered just 7 days before Nats.
