Great job Dink, sorry I didn't get to see your team and say hi this weekend. We were actually in Columbus at the Showcase tournament there.

Looks like its going to be another solid year for you again. Keep them focused, and make sure that they see the big picture.

Softballgirl, I'll get the website and info updated today. It's been a long weekend and somewhat chaotic. With that being said, I would like to thank all of the teams that beared with us this weekend with late dropouts and schedule changes, venue changes, thawing diamonds, etc. It was cold AND long, but we got it in.

Thanks to the Ohio Wave for a well ran tournament this weekend. Once again the field crew did an outstanding job getting the diamonds ready to play.

Congrats to the Ohio Wave on winning the championship 5-3 over SDS. You have a great group of girls and they found out today why you fight til the end. I'm sure we'll see you guys several times this season late on Sunday's. On behalf of SDS.... good luck in 2010 and we look forward to seeing you guys on the field again.

SDS pool play scores from Saturday...
SDS over Cross County Cannons 8-3
OFC Heat over SDS 5-0
Ohio Wave over SDS 6-1

SDS bracket play scores from Sunday....
SDS over Ohio Wave 8-1
SDS over OFC Heat 2-1

Championship.....
Ohio Wave over SDS 5-3

Thanks, Chris. My respect for the SDS has grown this past weekend. With all of the issues you have had to deal with these past few months, your staff, players and parents were all class acts. I'm sure this is the first of many late Sunday's for you guys.

I think you guys did an outstanding job. Once the fields started thawing out, the field crew did a great job getting them playable. Its hard enough for a TD to have to change schedules at the last minute due to teams droping out but to have to worry about the field conditions, not only to get started, but again after the games have already started is pretty tough. Again , you guys did a great job. Saturday was COLD but the weather on Sunday was great.... again congrats to your team for the win.

Thanks fps1597 & Rich, I was proud of our girls, they played hard and had a lot of fun. Look forward to coming back down to Greenville next summer, hopefully it will be a little warmer!

Congrats to the Nitro on a nice win and to the Inferno for battling back through a tough losers bracket - Your girls had to be spent by the championship and your reward was a rested Nitro team waiting for you...

Once again the Wave organization put on a great tournament under not so great conditions - We have NEVER been disappointed with the product up in Greenville. Thanks to Mike for opening up the Academy for our girls to work out in Friday night! If you have some cash left from the tournament you can come on down to Columbus and build us one to use this winter ;&

Hats off to Rich and the guys for putting on a great tourney with Mother Nature getting in the way. Our girls had a chance to learn a lot and see some quality ball. They got a very good lesson taught to them by the Nitro ladies. You guys are top shelf, all the way. BTW, send me the plans for your "Thunder Box on Wheels". I think that was awesome. My girls loved it.

Jay, while I appreciate the kind words I personally can take none of the credit for this past weekend. For the first time in many years I was not present for one of our tournaments. I actually had my 16U team over in Columbus.

However I will join you in praising the crew that did make last weekends tournament a success. mainly Mike Weaver, Denny Ruble, Jerrod Newland and all of the parents who jumped in and helped all weekend long. To say the least it was challenging and to their credit they got every game in and with only a few delays (not much they could do about the frost on Sunday morning). Weekends like that really make you appreciate the times that you get blessed with 75 and sunny for 3 straight days.

This weekend we host the 16U and 18U and right now the weather looks OK. Definately a little warmer then last weekend (even if only by a little).

Best of luck with your team this coming season and thanks for attending. We hope to see you guys again this Spring or Summer.

Was so impressed with the work the grounds crew did to get the fields ready. Expecially Sunday due to the frost. After the first couple of games, they looked like they did on Saturday. Beautiful fields to play on, good consessions and nice restrooms. Would go back there any time.
