Very well run tournament except for the rule about no coolers allowed in the park. How do you keep the ice cold for injuried players without the cooler? ?::) I guess it's all about the $$$$$$ They should of made out pretty good.................

Rich I have only one question for you. Why...why...why do you always have to make clear that you are missing X amount of starters? Is winning 12-3 or 11-4 not good enough for you? Are you saying that you would've run-ruled the Sluggers and Cobras by say 16-3 or 18-4 with all your starters? This is very demeaning to your opponants who you've already played and is uncalled for. You do this all the time. Are these the same missing starters that were absent from your scrimmage with the Ohio Slammers? Are they the same ones I heard you were missing at a winter tournament in Dayton?

When you travel up to Northeast Ohio and play the Ohio Slammers, Valley Extreame Red or Lasers Silver I'm sure we will again be told how many starters were not there due injuries, vacations or prior commitments. Until then please learn some humility. :)

Wow #5Alive you are so astute.

First of all here is the quote just so this is very clear: "With only 10 players on the roster this weekend we had to work pretty hard especially with the 4 games on Saturday. We look forward to getting two of our regular starters back next weekend for the Toledo tournament."

What exactly in that statement is demeaning to our opponents???? The fact is it was a long day Saturday. We got there at 11:00am and did not leave until 11:30pm. The 10 players that were there played really well and we did miss the two players that were missing. Oh by the way, we really look forward to maybe having them back next weekend. Again I ask what is demeaning here? Or is it something else?

Perhaps you don't realize this but many players read this forum as well. Did it ever occur to you that maybe we would like them to know that we miss them as well? Why do you have to read something into that statement that is simply not there?

Perhaps you should read my other comments about those teams in this thread as well. Like these:

" I think that both the Cobras and the Sluggers were two of the best teams that we have faced this season. Both deserve high marks. "

"Again let me be clear. I think that you guys have a very nice team. We have played some great competition this season and your team is in the top 3 or 4 teams that we have seen. Same for the Sluggers"

Finally let me say that I think you are reading way too much into my posts. I was responding to a question asked by KYsoftball and I tried to answer as best I could. That person and I have since PM'd eachother and I do not feel that there is any of the same concerns that you seem to have. I once again told them that they have great team, and we really wanted to play them again. They had a good game with the Sluggers that just got away from them at the end. I think it was 2-1 in the 6th inning.

Once again kudos to both the Sluggers and the Cobras, we have nothing but respect for both teams. No reason to be otherwise. I am sorry that someone else has to bring thier drama into this topic and sour it for you.

By the way its the Lil Slammers not the Ohio Slammers. Trust me even if we had 15 players the outcome would have been the same vs them in our scrimmage. I simply made the point there because I wish that the 3 players that missed that game would have had the chance to play against a team of that caliber. We are trying to hook up with them for a few more scrimmages before the summers over. It would be a ton of fun and a huge learning experience again. It has helped make us a better team. They showed us where we want to go, amd we thank them for that.

Rich, actually I believe it is the Ohio Slammers or at least that was on their uniforms this past weekend? I think now that they are all growed up they want to shed the 'LIL' namesake!! ;DIt seems like your having to defend yourself often on here though? :-?

Blazer441 - we stated in the rules that coolers with Ice rags / Ice could be brought into the park for the girls. We also supplied a lot of teams with injured players - bags of ice when they asked.

nolefan1989 - I apologize for the lenghtly lines on Friday - with the schedule changes, there were more teams in the park at the same time than originally anticipated. We did open a second line later in the evening and also attempted to sell the bottled drinks outside the concessions several times and that didn't seem to work.

Again, I appreciate all the patience during the Friday evening.

Rich,

I have read many if not all of your posts on OFC and a number of them rubbed me the wrong way also. Let me give you a little friendly advise that may help your public perception and I will use a version of your own post to illustrate.

In the 12U "A" Bracket the SuperGirlsExtremeIce-Black and Green won the championship.

In the tournament portion of play they had wins over:

Ohio Wave 11-1

Ohio Wave 11-3

Ohio Wave 12-4 (Championship Game)

With only 10 players on the roster this weekend we had to work pretty hard especially with the 4 games on Saturday. We look forward to getting number one and two pitchers back next weekend for the Toledo tournament.

I changed a few things in order to ask you if it sound demeaning to the Ohio Waves? I think it does. Read your posts before submitting and think how other MAY perceive (right or wrong) what you post.

From the Slammers website...

The first and most obvious change was the name. The young athletes believed they no longer were Little -- especially after winning a national championship!! -- and are now known as the Slammers.

You posters are quite entertaining... ?

SBwatcher that is cute, but it is not what was said, and it is not how it was said. Not really looking to make you a believer though so I guess we will just leave it at that.

BTW we are not the Ohio Wave's..... It is The Ohio Wave.

Still hoping we have all 12 players this weekend it would be the first time in a number of weeks. There, lets see what everyone can read into that. ?:)

I would leave it rest Rich, some do not understand what it takes to dedicate themselves to run a top notch organization and your wins speak for themselves. Do not let BUZZARDS get under your skin, let your play do the talking. You have a great group of kids and I know we always look forward to playing you. Goodluck to you the rest of the year.

Julie, I am sure that alot of the people posting have played, coached, or are playing for a 'TOP NOTCH' organization. To assume that we are not or that we don't know what it takes seems a bit demeaning!! :( Are you and Rich related?? Wins are not the only thing that qualifies you as one! As far as people getting under Rich's skin, I don't think it does as he continues to post things the same way everytime!!

give it a rest golf nut.... no need to creat another 50 plus posting on a topic .... use the site for gathering information and seeing how teams are doing and let it go!!!!!!!! at no point was anyone saying that any team was bad or not worthy.... all these girls from every team work their tails off... You know their are girls all through out Ohio that are just a little more ploished than others and if you dont realize that then you may need to watch the games just a little closer!

It could have rested after the last post but you had to add to it!! :p I realize there are plenty of great players out there that are working hard. It's the way the posting is being done by a few people that seem to continue to be an issue. I promise though that I'll give it a rest if the rest of those few do??

Just curious for all those out there in travel ball land.... what makes a top notch organization?

1. winning and playing late on Sunday week in and week out

2. having a great web site

3.cool uniforms

4.nice coaches

5. having the same core of girls from 10u all the way to 18u

my guess would be 1. and 5.

Hey patty --if you are still checking this thread ---1 suggestion --could you get the batters box lined a few times a day ? there were lots of times girls were getting out of the box , but with no box down it makes it harder for blue to make a call . Was a great time for us. MD
