She is the real deal. Mike from Wizards Elite had a gem when she played for him last year. Purple will surely do well adding her to their roster. Will be fun to watch her this year.

Mike does a nice job with his team, he has another kid that can bring it.

I am looking forward to seeing both Lasers Purple girls pitch in Morgantown this weekend. Have heard good things about them. New Era Diamond Girls also have a '99 pitcher that is fantastic. I think the '99 teams are really going to make some noise this weekend.

I think the 99s will do well mostly because many 98 girls (not teams) will be playing BB or can not make it due to HS activities.

So you are probably not going to see the full 98 team lineups.

Another problem is that quite a few of the better 98 pitchers have already jumped to 16U or 18U teams. So the 99s will probably have the elite level pitchers.

Agreed- if you consider yourself a D1 prospect as a pitcher and you are a freshman, you really should be playing on a 16u showcase team

There are some 98's that are 8th graders, though

My team was lucky/unlucky enough lol to play against Beaubein last yr at CSU in December. I didn't have the radar gun on her but I do know she was clearly throwing harder than anyone else I have seen at 12U ever except for the other girl that is being mentioned above - Carson #7 for New Era - who I saw at the Gplex 2 months later. Both of them can flat out bring it....at worst they were throwing 58ish. Again, we all know the older you get the more you have to move & spin the ball but with that said they are legit. I will have my popcorn ready for Sunday & will definitely be watching from the stands.

Disagree. The top level Orgs maintain their elite hurlers and have teams remain at their age level and build teams. They then go on the trail and "play up"...ie: St. Louis, Diamond 9, Homer Gold, Heartland, Legacy, Southern Force etc.. If you think winning championships at their birth years isn't important..you might want to reconsider..

Thanks for the kind words about my niece. I know she is working hard on not only speed, but location and movement. She has recently been clocked at 65 at the Tennessee camp, and 64 at the Michigan camp last weekend. Should be an exciting summer at 14u this year, and I'm looking forward to it!! Best of luck to all teams this weekend.

You're both right because both happen. Here are examples off the top of my head for both:

Pitchers that played up:
- Sam Cordova (2013 Utah): 2009 14U; 2010 Firecrackers 16U; 2011-12 Worth Firecrackers 18G
- Patricia Parks (2014 Arizona): 2010 SoCal Jynx 14U; 2011-12 Worth Fircrackers 18G
- Selina Ta'amilo (2014 UCLA): 2010 Power Surge 14U; 2011-12 OCBB Myers 16u
- Tera Blanco (2014 Michigan): 2010 Bomb Squad 14U; 2011 Firecrackers 16U (PGF champs); 2012-13 Worth Firecrackers 18G (PGF 2nd)
- Rachel Garcia (2015 UCLA): 2011 Corona Angels-Lockman 14U; 2012 CA-Knighten 16U; 2013 CA-Tyson 18G
- Taylor McQuillan (2015 OK St): 2011 OC Batbusters-Maroon 14u; 2012-13 OCBB-Haning 18G

Teams staying down for 14U championship play and showcasing up:
- Corona Angels 95: 2009-10 14U ASA/USA 2nd; 2011 ASA 18G 9th / PGF 16U 9th; 2012 CA-Tyson 18G
- OCBB Maroon / Team Mizuno Stith 96-97: 2011 14U; 2012 16U; 2013 18G
- Victory USA / Team Mizuno 98: 2012-13 14U (saw them in most of the 16U showcases this Fall)

Top D1 prospects usually play 2-3 years total at 14u/16u. HS-age players should play at the highest level where they're still capable of being very successful (i.e. an impact player).

;&....... wow. That certainly is bringing it......but 65? Man if that's fact that is moving! Not saying your lying but you have to understand how many people come on here claiming crazy speeds. My dd team will hopefully see them this year, it should be interesting. Good luck.

Anytime someone comes on this forum with numbers like 64,65 at 14u there will be doubters
I have seen lots of pitchers over the years and few have lived up to those type speeds but they are out there!
Good luck to your niece. Hope to hear about all the college choices she will have!!

This is amusing... Somebody not connected to the 13 year old creates a thread out of the blue asking about her, when told how she's doing and who she's playing for...there are doubts, yet she's good enough for a total stranger to take time out of his life to make her a subject of a thread.

I have never seen a post saying whatever happened to that completely avg pitcher playing for that completely avg team?

I think based on who she plays for, the amount of people in Ohio who know exactly who this Michigan girl is... It's ok to believe she's the real deal. Even if it means she's better then your DD or your teams pitcher

Easy sparky......the only thing that was questioned was the gun radar speed. By the way my dd doesn't pitch so no threat to her. Ive NEVER seen her pitch just heard about her. I know your with a younger wizards team, no body was questioning her ability, or her drive, or her character or anything else but her top speed. You make it look like were attacking this young lady. I don't think raising an eyebrow about 65mph at 14u is in any way offensive? Not seeing her throw before, I NEVER said she didn't throw that speed, just that its quite a claim. If she does good for her, if she doesn't good for her. Speed helps but it isn't everything. I also heard speed isn't her only attribute. Good off speed and breaking stuff as well. So relax Uber......... no harm was meant, and nothing offensive or negative was said. Try decaf......
