I have to question one call. In our 1st bracket game, we played 9 innings with ITB Friday night and both teams had chances to win. In the bottom of the 8th, we had runners on 1st and 2nd when our batter hit a slow roller to the pitcher, I believe. She threw to 1st, but the 1st baseman who was clearly several feet in front of 1st base never even moved to the bag. The field ump called our batter/runner out at 1st and he was overturned on an appeal to the plate ump. We had bases loaded with no outs and then the field ump called our runner on 3rd out for leaving early. Did she really leave early or was he mad about being overruled? I was not watching her take her lead, but it did not feel right because we were not squeezing. The next batter hit a short single that would have won the game had our runner still been on 3rd, but our coach had to hold the runner coming from 2nd base because it was not a deep hit. Then came a liner to SS who doubled our runner at 3rd to end the inning.
Don't know how you can question a call you didn't see. Consider this, if she did leave early should he have NOT called her out because an earlier call of his was overturned on appeal and he didn't want to look like he was getting even or should he make the call and do his job? Sorry, sounds like sour grapes. ;&
