Luck of the draw for our team. Elimination round
1st game - Ice Black
2nd game - Wolfpack Wolff
3rd game - Explosive Pink
4th game - Classics

almost could not have been any tougher. went 2-2 against it and played Wolff tough. game could have went either way.

I wonder if all 4 are getting and taking the bids? Word was that maybe one or two of these were going to pass the bid down.

Does anyone know anything about the Marion diamond team? They have seemed to come out of nowhere. Last week 6th at the lasers and 7th at the states. This isn't a team we have heard from in the past.

funny how score updates get second billing behind chicken sandwiches and polish sausages.

The Marion diamonds 94 is a young 17u team. We won many games last year at 16u and a few new players for this year. We actually had our 93 team there too and they played well until we played each other Saturday night

Hey Ray, long time no hear.

You have to set your priorities. It is hard to watch those games and get scores when that tummy is growling for some good concession food. :cap:

Classics turned their bid down.

Here is a question. Say that Warren hands this bid to the Bulldogs (so sake of argument, they are tied for 5th), does that mean that now the Bulldogs won't be able to play in this weekends qualifier? Then the next question would be, how long does a team have before making the decision to pass on their bid? That decision has an effect on the teams eligable to play this weekend in the strongsville qualifier. If I am the TD on this weekends tournament, I am having to put a schedule together that can change any minute.

kind of tough situation.

Classics were approached by the TD prior to our game with the Ice in the 4th place game, and we immediately informed him that we would not be accepting the bid. Not sure about the other 3 teams that qualified, but in our case, we let him know that due to a number of circumstances we could not accept it.

^I didn't mean that the Classics or anyone else did anything wrong. It is just a tough situation for the TD of the next tournament. Schedules are all set, then up to four teams drop at the last minute. But, you might not know which four that is until Tuesday or Wednesday, yet to be fair, schedules need to get into the hands of the teams playing so they can plan their hotels and travel.

I never have understood the reason behind hurting other TD that are trying to support ASA in Ohio.

Do all states have the same rules for teams that win bids to the national ?

In Michigan, teams can play any ASA Qualifiers even if they have a bid to Nationals.

Barring previously qualified teams is exacerbated in Ohio by teams playing in so many association qualifiers and having qualifiers on consecutive weekends. We don't have that here.

Teams here prefer to lock up their berth early in the season so they can make the best possible travel arrangements and have their summer schedule freed from chasing a berth.
