What are your expectations/hopes this HS season?

Just wondering what everyone's expectations for your DD's team this year? Do you have any? I guess not necessarily their win/loss record, but other things. I'm hoping that the leader in my DD finally comes out in other ways than what character it takes to sit the bench because of an injury and still cheer on the team when it's killing her inside. I'm expecting a lot of younger girls to be playing up and a lot of growing happening team wise and player wise. I'm looking forward to this season. It's my DD's senior year so I'm hoping it's a good one.

Don't have a DD still playing - but as a Travel coach I just hope the players don't get hurt during HS season!!!

To actually have the girls play more than a hand full of games due to weather. A nice sunny and warm spring would be nice. I know it's Ohio but one could hope. :cap:

I agree with SoftballMom88 - all the interruptions to the schedule due to rain, and the very cold conditions, made last year very unpleasant!!!! I would like to see the kids play the schedule and not playing make up games like crazy. The kids once went to a HS 45 minutes away 3 different times to play one game.

This is our final year (Glen Este) in the FAVC and our team is very young, but I fully expect them to be competitive and contend for the top spot in the division. My hopes are that all the girls stay healthy and have a positive HS fastpitch softball experience.

River Valley should do very well. Had a great season last year and return the core of our team and have capable players ready to fill the spots of the departed senoirs. Hopefully we will fill the leadership spots of those that left as well.

Would be nice to play all games even if you have to reschedule the rain outs ,back to back games are fun plus it beats practice for the players, and also dreaming of watching my dd play in a high school championship game at the beautiful Firestone stadium would be awesome, That wouldn't be to much to hope for would it ? :roll eyes:  :cap:

My hope are when playoff comes our players are available. Last year all our seniors (3) and 3of our starters couldn't play do to prior commitment. It was very disappointing to lose that way. My DD's wishes they could play for a coach who cares. What's really shameful is that there is talent and more on the way to make some noise.

My expectations are to teach some awesome kids a very cool game, teach them how to compete and to be a positive part of a great experience for my players.

Praying that the knee holds up. Any injury-free year is a good one for me.

Hoping our Head Coach listens to his asst. coach (who has a lot more knowledge of the game). We have the potential to have a pretty good season with the talent that is coming in. Have 5 freshmen going to play Varsity, but they have played travel ball for many years and are very talented and 2 sophomores that played V last year and who have played travel with the 5 Freshmen. Its a young team but since they have been playing together for so long they already have the "team" stuff down. It's like having (my) old team together again (I used to coach them with the now asst. coach). Should be a good season........all just depends on the head coach.

New coach this year for Pick North and a very tough schedule. If our pitching holds up, we could be pretty good and sneak up on some people. Will be a very fast team with good defense.

It would be nice to win the league.

After two years as district runnerup, it would be nicer to get out of the district final and move on to the regionals.

With Miamisburg, Butler, Piqua, Centerville, Wayne, Lebanon, Beavercreek, and Fairmont as D1 teams that are always pretty competitive in the Dayton area, that'll be a tough task.
