What's the craziest thing you have found in your DD's bat bag?

Helped my 14U DD clean out her bat bag today after a tournament. Thought this was pretty cute and had to share. Among the softball gear, candy wrappers and half full water bottles there were plastic vampire teeth, a piece of gum. pearl bracelets, two necklaces, a ring, a pair of earrings and a sticky lizard. All the essentials lol! I get the jewelry since they cannot wear it, but the vampire teeth and sticky lizard threw me LOL!!

I have a player who carries a brick around in her bag. She found it at a school yard ball field last year and still carries it. No one knows why and she can't (or won't) explain. I noticed one day I was hauling players between fields in my jeep and when I loaded her bag I asked if she was carrying a dead body around. The next day I sent her mom an email and suggested she shake down her dd's bag figuring it was several half drunk Gatorades and waters accumulated over time. And she replied, "must be that brick". ???

I try to NEVER get in my dd's batbag. Last time I checked it there were some seriously nasty socks that about made me puke so I don't bother looking anymore.....I can't take foot funk that's that severe.

What I can not understand is why is gets so full of garbage.
We spend HOURS doing nothing at tournaments. Why wouldn't she want to clean out the half full water bottles and lighten the load?
Not to mention she is a pack rat in real life so her bag becomes a keeper of all types of things. The strangest......she had a stuffed animal animal that smelled worse than her feet and shoes if that is even possible. I ask her why and she said she found it and thought it needed a home (she is 14 soon to be 15) and then just looked at me like I was crazy????

The topper is that she now has 3 bags. New one for this year, old one (that is still good but different colors) and her HS team bag. Her old one is "empty" in that the softball stuff is out but it is still pretty full (of what I am afraid to check). She carries her new teams helmet in her HS bag even though she is not allowed to ever wear it. So why carry it?

Last year at the Columbus World Series we cleaned out her bag in between games and I counted 23 1/2 full water/gatorade bottles and for some reason she had 3 rocks in there as well... They were pretty she said.

DD's bag is like a portable recycling station for plastic bottles! Also found about 10 yards of pretty ribbons, each about 20 inches long and she could tell me which day of each tournament they were worn and the person who brought them for the team to wear.

Two rules I follow. Never carry my kids bag (people will make fun of me at OFC) and never look in my girls bat bags (I may have a flashback days from OSU freshman year).

there is one more, never ever spit into a wind.

Crud, dirt, old socks, water bottles galore, head bands that she "knows" she put away last time she had them out, old spikes that were removed between games (why not throw them away?), she told me... "Dad if you had a bag it would have nothing in it but sunflower seed shells and beer bottles!". I made sure she understood the bottles would be empty, I would never waste something from "my 5 food groups!" The other four are as follows
1) sunflower seed
2) walking tacos
3) hot dogs
4) beef jerkey

When she was playing 18U we bought a new bat bag and while transferring the contents of the old one found (among many other things, of course) an almost empty plastic bottle of what used to be white milk that I distinctly remembered buying in Akron down the street from Firestone at a gas station when playing 14U Pony Nationals. The lid was still on it and I'm not sure what the contents had turned into. It was very nasty.

I made her clean her old bag out last summer and there was a ton of 3/4 full water bottles, gum still in the bag, ribbons from various games, missing rip-it mask chin cup she wore a hundred times that she lost it at the field, half eaten pringles, "missing" iphone charger that she swore she left at a friends, some nasty socks, some brand new socks, about 20 under armour head bands that we seemed to have to buy weekly cause she said they stretch out, a cut up orange in a ziplock bag (very nasty and I am sure was months old), 3 baseballs (no idea where they came from) a few golf balls (she found them) $7 in ones that she quickly snatched back up. Now she uses a backpack and I am afraid to even look in it. A few weeks ago she was trying to jam her bats in the bat sleeves and said her bat would not fit and there was a bottle of water blocking it.

Lol some great ones here ... Tony, re: that brick in your player's bag, I'm not sure how to put this, but do you happen to know what happened with her coach from last year?! Or, maybe it was just her mom trying to tell you something?! ;)

Nah, I think he's pretty safe, he's got an awesome group of girls. No disappearing coaches but maybe some balls over fences or opposing team batting averages. ;)

I never thought to ask. Till she played for us she was playing baseball and I don't travel in the same circle with those coaches.

Lol ... no, you misunderstood, Tony ... I was kidding around and implying maybe they like to use the brick on coaches! Obviously not you though ... agree with Shyne that kids are fortunate to have you as a coach!

When dd was a 18u we found hotel keys, some kind of mold in a ziplock bag and of course the water bottle minefield and my lucky rock.

DD and I were talking about this and she said she has 1/2 of a softball that got hit by a lawn mower, a broken bat that she found in a trash can at a tournament, ripped up tissues, a baggie with some OLD ibuprofen and best of all (IMO) the stick she put in the bag two years ago after I told her that she didn't need her new expensive bat if she was just going to watch the strikes go by and that she might as well go to bat with a stick!
