There are a lot of factors when determining the safety of playing a game. But what is you opinion on when it's too cold to play?

AGREE! Switch it with Volleyball. We have said this for years!! but.....Queue the obligatory "Move softball to Fall" posts
We played last night with the starting temp of 41 with a 16 mph sustained wind. The gust were up to 22. The wind chill was 33 degrees at 16 mph and below that when the wind blew harder. When we finished, the temp was 37. We have chain link fence dugouts and so, there wasn't any shelter at all. I thought we had an agreement with the maintenance crew to put up tarps for both home and visitor dugouts. They thought the game would be cancelled and so, they didn't even do the diamond. I had to get the diamond done as the other team warmed up. The visiting coach kept asking why we were playing. With those gust, it wasn't like a real game. I told her that my AD said we were playing and so, we had to play. The umpire told both teams to be swinging. If a pitch got forward movement toward the plate, it was a strike. I was about as embarrassed as I have been as a coach.
