Stay away from Yahoo, it told us to get on "a local road" half way to a destination. YOu know how many local roads there are in an area. We found the place thanks to that wonderful thing the cell phone. Like Daddy Waggs says " and thats why we went to the moon"

Google maps first then GPS. Most of the time they are the same, but fuel and food on the GPS are great. I had to laugh my dd just got done taking drivers ed and one night they had to use maps and find different cities in Ohio. She didn't use the map, but just told the teacher where the cities were and how to get there. They found it kind of strange that she knew all the interstates! The teacher asked her how she knew this and her answer was "because of softball".

I think you've sold me on getting a GPS. My son bought one because he had a job where he was driving all over NEO. It worlks really well. However, since all my miscellaneous funds go to support my dd's softball addiction, I've had to rely on mapquest and google maps. We haven't gotten lost yet, though.

What GPS seems to be the best? We had a Garmin and gave it to DD to use at college. Looking to buy another one for us. Garmin seemed to work good, don't like the expensive updates though. I've herd good things about the TomTom and Magellen.

We are very happy with the Garmin Nuvi products, though in the interest of saving money on the replacement for the stolen one, we opted for a unit that doesn't provide a constant display of the speed limit and I have to say with my lead foot I miss that feature.

We have a Navigon that we paid 250.00 for and 50.00 extra for lifetime traffic updates, works really well and we have never had any problems with it.

GPS because when I'm not paying attention (which is often ;&), and I miss a turn or an offramp, it just recalculates. Sometimes going to the next exit and turning around is not the quickest route when you make a mistake. :D
