Your talking about trying to find the best coaches to coach a Team Ohio that will never exist.
Parents will never allow their DD's to play on a team that has players that are better then their DD.
How much are you planning on charging the players to play on this team, or who do you plan on footing the bill.
Your talking about the best coaches that you don't want to pay??!!!
To be seen properly the team must do a lot of traveling, none in the state of Ohio.
You will need to play in CA, CO, NV, AZ, TX, FL, GA, SC at least to play the caliber teams needed for big D1 schools to even notice you.
Again, you don't want to pay the coaches for a full time job???
You will also need an indoor facillity to practice at least 3 times a week.
Again no money.
Your best players would be from all corners of the state, how many parents want to drive 4 hours 1 way for a practice on Tuesday night.
Good luck with your team.
None.......These coaches should be doing it for the love and passion of the game. The lessons these coaches are teaching these girls on and off the field and helping to get these girls college schollarships is their pay and bonus.

Anyone mention my boy JP????;&;&
I have to disagree here. If you are trying to form a "Team Ohio", a team of 15 to 18 of the best players in the state, this team will do a ton of travelling in order to play nationally. Also, this coach would have a huge amount of administrative work on his or her hands trying to get every girl scholarships, setting up motels, setting up practices, putting together skills videos, etc. It would be a full time job. There is no way you could not pay a coach to run such a team. A team like this would be very expensive.....in the thousands not including travelling expenses. A coach could not possibly do anything else in the summer besides run this kind of team, so they would have to be able to take a leave from their job for the summer, or if they are self employed, temporarily shut their business down.
A team of this caliber does not need a hitting coach, fielding coach, catching coach, nor a pitching coach on the staff. The kids/parents should be responsible for their own specialty coaches. A team like this needs three coaches max, and the duties should be split between 3rd base, 1st base, and bench/book coach. The coaches job should be nothing more than to know the game, get a team like this to run like a well-oiled machine, showcase the kids, and know how to win, not necessarily to teach life lessons. The only time the coaches will see the kids would be during the one or two practices they have in a month, and at the tournaments. Remember, the kids on this type of team are from all over the state; there is no possible way to have two or three practices a week during the season.

My 2 Nominees:
The reason I nominate these 2 guys is 1st-they can take good(but not great) talent and compete and beat the supposed 'great teams' almost every time, because they know the game.
I think someone else said earlier there are alot of great recruiters or managers that get the best players on a team but dont know the game and it shows in the big games when split 2nd decisions have to be made sometimes.
John Miller -Doom 96 - 1st the guy really cares about the girls, he has a big heart and behind that tough guy look- he's a big teddy bear, knows the game about as good as anyone I have been around, best practices hands down.
Mike Wilson-Formerly Lasers black- Have known Mike for many years, knows the short game and when to use it better than most and understands game about as good as anyone, takes marginal players and beats the great ones!
$5000 for family expenses x 16 players is $80,000, so as you can see there is enough money to play year round and out of state, while taking 2 months off! Parents attend the local tournaments, 4 Den Monthers for out of state tournaments, and the kids can be seen and recruited nationally, so if the University of choice is $20,000 per year thats an $80,000 savings in college loans and tuition. For an expense of $20,000 during the 4 years of High School to achieve a Scholarship. Seems like a deal to me!
12 of those players go on Scholarship to a $15,000 year College the total College Tuition cost is $720,000. The combined player 4 year travel ball expense of $5000 x 12 x 4years=$240,000. Total Savings in Tuition Expense $480,000, so seems kind of priceless to me.
All this is fine and good, but what everyone seems to forget is what kind of degree these girls are getting. After all the goal of going to college is to get an education that leads to a job that you can prosper with and not struggle to make ends meet. I still say the academic scholarship is what our goal should be. JMHO
