Well with tv stations switching to digital, there will be more air waves to clog up with those pesky cell phones being used in an emergancy.;&
You have got to be kidding me. Punish a kid for having a cell phone at practice and let them go in school. i think that most of you are missing the point. A cell phone is a distraction item. if students have them on their person during the school day, they WILL use them. Students are in school to learn and to respect the rules put forth by others.I have two DD's, one in the 6th grade and the older in the 8th grade and neither has a Cell Phone at this time. Both are in sports and the oldest DD uses her friends Cell to contact us after practice or a Jr. High game so that we can pick her up afterwards.
As a parent I see no problem provided the Phone is used properly and on Silent or Off!
Within the last year at the H.S. where the oldest attends there has been 1 sexual assault on students by a female coach during school hours, and by one music teacher at the Elem. where the youngest attends just a few weeks back, it getting a little out of hand here locally. The coach ended up in Federal District Court and lost, now I hope criminal charges are pending on her, the other is Administative leave for now.
I see in the future that my two DD's will carry a Cell Phone even if they must hide them in the event should something like this were to happen to them. All they have to do is dial 911 that was they don't even have to talk, they'll be found by Law Enforcement.
As a coach however! I see a problem, they do cause a distraction at practice, games, and team functions. For instance: There was a player on the team last year during game time in the outfield with her Cell Phone. Punishment:Two Game Suspension! But generally the girls will turn their phone off or on silent during practice or games and do not use them until afterwards so we don't have an issue.
FASTPITCH! Anything else, And you're playing to SLOW!
If anything they should ban internet usage by teachers during the school day :lmao:, but if they do that OFC would be a lonely place between 8-2:30 lol.
I have a plan period. Besides, I'm on my way back from taking your kids phone! :lmao: Please tell your kids to bring their cell phone boxes. If I have the box, I get more money for them at the local flee market!:lmao: See ya, i have a classIf anything they should ban internet usage by teachers during the school day :lmao:, but if they do that OFC would be a lonely place between 8-2:30 lol.

Cell Phones make it so much easier to order pizza in Mr. Hand's class.
