The hawks and doom are from southwest ohio and I believe the lasers green are based out of grove city, ohio. The cincy static is typically a strong organization but not sure if they fielded a 10u team this year or not.
I agree have seen most of your picks play your 100% right any given Sunday!! What about some other strong organizations from the south any body seen play?
While I have only played/seen 5 of your 13, I think there are some teams that maybe should be left off and some that should be added and the best team I have played thus far has been Stingrays followed by Ohio Storm, but the Storm beat the Rays heads-up last weekendso, who knows???? I can tell you they are both very fundementally sound and will not beat themselves.
They say defense wins championships. Our two losses were championship games vs the Diamonds (3-2) and Storm (3-1). In each game we struck out once and thrice, all other outs made against us were on balls put in play. They beat us by scattering our base hits, stranding our runners, making every play that should be made plus stealing base hits (2b for Storm ate us up!), and issuing
very few walks. 2012 will be a fun year for 10u!
Just a reminder that the deadline for the 2012 Laser Nation Tournament next June 15-17th is 2 weeks away. The format is a 5 game guarentee with 3 pool play games, seeded into double elimination. We are excited to say that 12 teams have applied, including 6 of the top 7 teams on Mantle07's preseason poll. The goal this year is to expand the 10U to 16 teams, so there is still room for 4 more teams to apply. For complete details and registration you can email Jeff Cavenall at jcav@bright.net or you may contact me at BigBink2000@yahoo.com or 614-949-5292
The Ohio Hawks are honored to be mentioned in the preseason poll with some very talented teams and hope we can play like a top 10 team this summer. I had the opportunity to watch Lee's Lasers and the Buckeye Heat battle it out in Lancaster. They both will be forces this summer. The Liberty Blazers from SW Ohio also have a solid team of 2nd year girls and are very well coached! They are going to win some games...
Thank you for the reminder that applications are due and we are looking forward to hearing that we have been accepted! Hope to see you all next spring!
Hey Jerry, thanks for the compliment. I know we have been working hard on a weekly basis and look forward to competing with all the top teams this spring and summer.

Thanks for the mention Jerry! We've seen a lot of really good talent this fall and are looking forward to seeing more in the spring! Now we've got all winter to be ready for it

Yes we have a 10U team this year but they will not be able to play with the teams mentioned here as they are all almost first yr 10's just coming mainly from Rec ball. They have a lot of raw talent just need to be coached up & put through the correct paces - it is definitely a process.
Thanks for mentioning our org & best of luck to all ages & teams in 2012.
Hard work will be the key to all of this...Great disscussion! I know that the teams mentioned have both good players and developing. I hope we all remember that none of them will be showcasing for at least 4 years. Add "teirs" to their learning coaches...teach them to love the game and the rest will come from that!!
Witnessed some 10u action this evening at spano dome between ohio ice and north coast spirit. I believe northcoast came out on top 8-6 in this scimmage
it was a good scrimmage. Ice did very good. They have a solid infield. Very well coached team with good fundamentals. It was very fun to watch! Im so proud of our spirit girls.
Again I witnessed some sound 10u action at spano dome. This time between the ohio ice and lasers green. I believe they battled to a 7-7 tie in this scrimmage.
Stigray's same weekend as Nailbiter. 19 teams from 4 or 5 states. Still 5 spots left to fillthe 24 team 10U. Hope to see North Coast there, hearing good things!

I believe it was Ohio Ice Bristow vs. Lasers Green. I am surprised no one has been mentioning Bristow's team. Terry always has tough teams that fly under the radar. I am sure he will have his team playing in the semis or championship rounds every Sunday this summer.
