Is anyone else embarrassed?

Is anyone else embarrassed for our sport after watching the USSSA Pride and the Chicago Bandits play the highest level pro game in the US on a baseball field? We don't even warrant playing on a regulation field. Heck even LL changed their rules and they play their WS on dirt. They should have just played it at Osceola HS here in Orlando - that?s where two of the pro team practice.

Come on USSSA - the sport deserves better than that......

I saw that and thought the same thing. What got me a little PO'd was that I didn't see one play on Sports Center all summer from the SOftball League. They show all kinds of other c r a p , but not a single softball play. They even showed all the Boys LL stuff the few weeks, but o softball.

Would be nice if the showed the games on TV, or at least all the playoffs. Like you guys said, LL got more coverage.

I thought I needed new contacts! LL Softball gets coverage because that's part of the deal to broadcast their baseball games.

Second base is an island in the middle of a sea of grass. The pitcher's circle and rubber are on grass...

Wouldn't a local D1 college have had a more suitable field? It's not like they have to make room for 50,000 spectators.

The HS fields they practice on rivals many college fields. UCF is 30 miles away. Dot Richardsons complex is 15 miles away (although she hatres NPF) the old National Team training complex is 30 miles away and the Pride Head Coach is the Gators coach. Maybe he could have gotten a field with real fences. SAD

I was shocked beyond belief, like someone said , 2nd base in the middle of a sea of turf ...... I know he prob didn't have say so in this (how could you not demand better) but doesn't Conroy who is directing and pushing Premier also own the Bandits ? from what i've heard he is the biggest mover/shaker in the softball world and he lets this turd of an idea pass ? tell me it isn't so . The best of the fastpitch world plays their championship on a turfed baseball field ? Yes I was very pi$$ed and embarrassed . unreal. MD

Last year it was in Supher Springs, LA. A beautiful place.

USSSA is sooooo tied in with Disney ... that it is not funny anymore.

Couldn't agree more.

playing on that field was a slap in the face, could the players have protested? i thought purpose was to promote the sport, not slam it down.

SoCal-- I know you are really knowledgeable about Premier , isn't there some connection between National Pro Fastpitch and Premier Girls Fastpitch ? Is it just coincidence that the Chicago team is the Bandits and the Beverly team is also the Bandits . Or is there quite a bit of intermingling of people in NPF and PGF ?
