I like to follow the college teams of players I used to coach, and have to get kudos to one of them. Annie Wennerberg, from Avon Lake, who played for my daughter and I on the Breakers when she was 15, and then went on to play with the Outlaws, hit 4 more home runs today for Case Western against Mt. Union. Annie now has 13 homers in 19 games. Case's old record for homers in a season was 11, and this season isn't even 1/2 over! Annie is also an excellent pitcher, and an outstanding student, and comes from a great family! Way to go, Annie!!!

I have watched Annie pitch since she was an eighth grader, and to see her mature and develop into a dominant college pitcher has been inspiring. I was not aware that she has blasted so many HR's this year, but its a testament that pitchers can hit, and that she is obviously working on all facets of her game. She is doing this while attending one of the best colleges in the country, and when she finishes her college career, she will be Annie Wennerberg RN. Good job Annie!

Way to go Annie !! Annie is one amazing young lady and comes from a great family. It was a honor to have her and her family as part of the Outlaw's. Annie is not only amazing softball player but also a amazing student. She chose to go to a Case because of there high academic standards despite being a true D1 talent as you can see.

Yes, I agree that Annie could have probably played D1, but she was more focused on academics, plus I think she wanted to stay close to home. I take no credit for her softball skills, but I will for introducing the Case coach Josie Henry to Annie at the showcase they used to have in Strongsville before their July 4th weekend tourney. Now that I think about it, I am sure they would have found each other eventually anyhow ... ;)

Congrats to Annie, I saw her as a Senior in High School when DD was a freshman, she was a special player then as well as now. Keep bashing the ball.

DD played on the Outlaws team with Annie and she definitely was a D1 talent if that's what she wanted. More importantly she was a great teammate and came from a great family. It's no surprise to hear how well she's doing at Case in only her SOPHOMORE year. Keep it up kid!
