May tourneys were shortened or cancelled this weekend, but the girls played on in Marion. For starters, Marion was blessed to have been spared from that massive storm that came through Ohio on Saturday, but we teams who played there this weekend owe a tremendous show of appreciation for the RVBFY fields crews. Of course the outfields were wet, and the infields were a little soft. However, the tourney was able to be played.
My hat is off to guys like Mike Craig, NSA State director who have to make these tough decisions when Mother Nature doesn't cooperate with outdoor sports. He did what he needed to do in order to get the tournament in and provide the most amount of games possible for all teams.

Well done Mike & RVBFY crew!

The crew at RVBFY are the heroes here. They got them ready as best they could, handled all of my non stop texts to go touch up wet spots all morning long at various fields as they came in, handled the rain out on Friday the correct way by refunding the gate charge 100%. I also want to thank the young ladies and their parents who endured some not so exciting conditions all weekend and played hard and brought home state championships the right way, on the field.
