This is a response to an earlier thread about my own discouraging quibbles ewith the 16u Ashland ASA qualifier earlier in June...Warren jones, who is the state ASA director actually emailed me earlier this week to talk with me about my issues and some other issues other parents had with that tourney..well, our assistant coach introduces me to Mr. Jones this afternoon at Berliner and we had a few minutes to talk about every issue with that particular tourney--city crews, scheduling, lack of concessions, etc--and not only were all my questions and concerns treated with profesionalism, but I actually received answers.
That doesnt happen very often.
Kudos to Mr. Jones on hearing the customer complaints and doing something about them. I appreciated the time he took with me and treated me with respect, even when he didnt know who i was or what my agenda concerned. I even got a business card if further issues ever come up at other ASA tourneys.
It's great to know the system does work sometimes, and hopefully if tourneys continue in Ashland, those minor bumps can be smoothed to create a great environment for other teams across the state as they try and qualify for ASA nationals. No wonder we play ASA!

In this case the grease was from a walking taco.

Stats, I am glad you took the time to take up issues. Most complaints are only aired on OFC and only serves as a pressure release. We need more that care enough to take the time and take the issues to the ones that can actually do something.

My hat is off to you.

I am hoping the sun will encourage some hair growth... or at least give me a youthful tan.

I will also say that Warren has bent over backwards to try and get us everything we needed for Nationals. He responded quickly to e-mails and phone calls. He told me on the phone he was getting some forms in the mail to me that day, and emailed me 5 minutes later after he put the stamps on the envelope. Thanks Warren.

Warren's a good guy. All of my dealings with him have been honest and upfront. He's a common sight out on the fields all summer long, but I know that he puts untold hours into ASA softball behind the scenes and year-round.

Plus, he shared his case of beer with me in the hotel lobby at the National Umpire School, so as far as I'm concerned the man can do no wrong! :D

I have been very impressed to see Warren Jones at three different tournaments that my team has participated in this summer. He has been very friendly and very helpful in dealing with any questions or concerns that I have had.
