This is a response to an earlier thread about my own discouraging quibbles ewith the 16u Ashland ASA qualifier earlier in June...Warren jones, who is the state ASA director actually emailed me earlier this week to talk with me about my issues and some other issues other parents had with that tourney..well, our assistant coach introduces me to Mr. Jones this afternoon at Berliner and we had a few minutes to talk about every issue with that particular tourney--city crews, scheduling, lack of concessions, etc--and not only were all my questions and concerns treated with profesionalism, but I actually received answers.
That doesnt happen very often.
Kudos to Mr. Jones on hearing the customer complaints and doing something about them. I appreciated the time he took with me and treated me with respect, even when he didnt know who i was or what my agenda concerned. I even got a business card if further issues ever come up at other ASA tourneys.
It's great to know the system does work sometimes, and hopefully if tourneys continue in Ashland, those minor bumps can be smoothed to create a great environment for other teams across the state as they try and qualify for ASA nationals. No wonder we play ASA!
