The Ohio Wave will be hosting a Fall tournament in Greenville, Ohio. This will be a World Series Qualifier and it will be a very favorable format.

Date: October 18th and 19th
(Oct 25th & 26th will be the rain out date)

6 Game Guarantee

All games will be 1 hour 40 minute time limit (so they should be full games)

Age Groups: 10U / 12U / 14U / 16U

$375.00 / team

This tournament will be an ASA Eastern Qualifier for both the "A" and "B" Division
NOTE: The 2009 ASA 14U "B" Nationals will be held in Dayton Ohio.

The event is Sponsored by the Rip-It bat company and they will have a factory Rep on hand with all of the 2009 Rip-It gear for people to try out and even use them in a game and purchase them if they are interested.

The main thing we want to see is teams get 6 full games in. At this time of the season we feel that it is important to help them work in and sort some things out.

Due to the format space will be very limited: There will be one 7 team pool in each age group so first come first serve is the name of the game. Everyone is welcome.

Team trophy and individual awards to the Champions.

Registration forms are available at the follwing link: http://www.leaguelineup.com/ohiowave/files/2009%20FALL%20RIP-IT%20FLYER.pdf

Do not hesitate if you want in. We have been talking about the event for a little while and already a number of teams have told us that they want in. We feel that this is the best value for this time of year and we typically draw solid competition to our events.

I forgot to mention that this tournament will be held at the Stebbins Field Complex. This is an excellent softball venue with plenty of free parking and no admission fees. RV's are welcome.

Rich I do believe that Ohio Danger 10u, 12u and 14u would like to get in. Please mark us down.

Thanks,

I will count you guys in Paul. You will like the format. Its a great way to get 6 solid full games in with no time limit issues.

Based on the response so far we should fill up quickly. Also just in the event that we have bad weather that weekend we have already set aside the following weekend as a make up date.

Thanks,

we will talk to you soon.

Paul,

once you get your 14U team together give us a shout and we can get a scrimage in.

BTW we have you guys penciled in and so far the response has been good. It will be nice to actually get 6 full games in won't it?

Pat,

Its looking good so far. At this time we have 4 or 5 16U teams that have said they would play and we need 7 teams to make the format work.

I would say that it will be a go.

How does ASA work on "A" or "B" classification? If you earn a "B" berth, are you tied to the "B" classification for the rest of the season?

I think that you can always move up from a "B" berth to an "A" berth if you win one, but I am not sure if you can move down. I will check with Ohio ASA just to make sure.

Just a quick reminder to everyone that we can only take 7 teams per age group and we are almost full in a couple of them. Due to the format for this event that is all that we can handle in each, and once we reach 7 teams age group then we have to close it off. We have recieved many requests and I do not want to see any teams wait to get in and then find out that the bracket is full.

Thanks,

Ohio Wave Fastpitch
