VIPER 22 we decided to add an 8th 12U team because we only ended up with 6 10U teams. With the format that we will use next weekend we could handle a total of 14 teams on those 4 diamonds. We had 2 or 3 12U teams that were on a waiting list to get in so we we ended up adding one there.

The 10U / 12U schedule is now posted on our site www.ohiowave.com. The 14s and 16s will be posted very soon also. As you will notice, all 10U and 12U games will be played at Arcanum's community park. This tournament exceeded our expectations with the response we received and we simply grew out of Stebbins immediately. Do not fret, Arcanum is just a short drive away and the complex is very nice in itself. We've also had a huge response to the new Rip-It gear. The Rip-It rep will be in Arcanum on Saturday and in Greenville on Sunday so there will be no need to make a special trip just to check out the new gear. Both locations will offer full concessions, tournament shirts and softball apparel.

Coaches, You should recieve your tournament packet in your e-mail this weekend. See you all next weekend. Have your players rested. Six full games of ball is a lot of innings. Good luck.

All coaches should have recieved their information over the weekend via e-mail with the possible exception of the 12U age group. We had to make a slight schedule change and I have not seen the final version yet, but when I do I will get it out immediately. I'm sure that will be by this afternoon.

There has been some questions asked about the address for each facility and I will post them here. We look forward to seeing everyone next weekend.

Also, I've had a couple in inquiries about the 12U schedule. With 8 teams we are still playing a 6 game schedule, (4 pool games and then 2 bracket games). We are not dropping down to 5 games unless we get a monsoon.

Now, about the packets that were supposed to have been sent out over the weekend. We have to make a small schedule adjustment to accomodate one the of the traveling teams. It will only affect two games and a couple of teams. Also, we may have a 12U team that has to pull out, so we may go back to the original format of a six game round robin. They are making the descision today if they will be able to play. The final schedule should be released and sent today.

OK, We've had one team drop out so we are back to our original format. Six game round-robin. I've tried to accommodate all of the special requests so I hope everything is cool with everybody. Weather looks good, but cool on Saturday. Sunset is right around 7:00PM and the temp drops very quickly so make sure your kids dress for the 45 degree temps at the end of the game. See you all Saturday.

Also, Thanks for everyone's patience and understanding with the schedule revision and the move to Arcanum. We simply underestimated the response (16U) and the outfields of two of the diamonds we normally use in Greenville are being used for Pee-Wee football playoffs. Of course that may have made for some interesting fly ball plays.

Denny Ruble and I (Mike Weaver) will be handling the tournament in Arcanum so any inquiries can be directed my way. Once the tournament starts, Denny will be the official TD. Denny will be on hand all weekend.

No, you should get a packet today with maps, rules, etc. I had everything done then we had a team on the bubble about playing and they ended up pulling out last night. I had to re-do everything. You will have it in your email today.

Rosters Note: This tournament is a 2009 qualifier which means the player's ages must comply with the 2009 age limits. For example, a 12 year old player who is still 12 now but turns 13 in December must play in the 14U age group. Basically, what ever age group she will be playing in next summer is the group she must play in at this tournament. Looking at the teams I doubt this will be an issue but a few coaches have asked this question because they have played some fall tournaments where this was not the case and girls were playing "down."
