Man I could just tee off on this post with all kinds of commentary. I know what you mean. I'm not going to hijack this with an ad for my facility because I think just about everyone knows I am one of the owners of Field of Dreams.
Thing is...we cater to baseball as well as softball. They use U10, U12, etc. We say 12U. It's comical. Those people on here saying U10 are showing their DD either plays s****r or has a brother playing baseball.
Get it right

AND..there is no BALK. Stop asking the ump to call it![/QUO

Somehow you still think your mini hijack threads are still funny... Rookie....

When at the fields pay attention to your surroundings and be aware of foul balls!

I seen 3 ladies get hit at a HS preview tournament this past weekend none were into the games or aware of what was happening on the field.

One got dropped after taking a shot to the side of the head while talking on a phone behind the backstop. Another did her best to keep from crying when a ball that bounced off a concrete pad hit her in the head as she was talking with her back to the field.

And another thing do not park the stroller down the foul line!

... from the Marietta/Wilmington game Saturday. Check out line 2 below...

Scoring Summary

WIL

MAR

Wilmington 1st Kaylee Cox singled through the left side, RBI (0-1); Megan Warren scored. 1 0
Marietta 3rd Kelley advanced to second on a balk; Curry advanced to third on a balk; Mayo scored on a balk. 1 1
Marietta 3rd Montgomery singled to center field, 2 RBI (3-2); Kelley scored; Curry scored.

Is it safe to assume the stat keeper was a former baseball player, and they were really Illegal Pitches?

Batter takes ball four, drops her bat, trots down to 1st base, steps on the bag and turns left, continues for 3 steps toward 2nd base, stops and immediately returns to 1st base. SHE'S NOT OUT! Don't feel bad about being a rookie; there are plenty of coaches out there that get that one wrong. ;)

That one is a fine line. It has to do with if she slows her momentum or not. Thats a tough call and umpires often get it wrong. We usually try to avoid it all together. Either they stopped at first or hauled a** to 2nd, But that being said - I've had umpires say they can't take 2nd on a walk. Games are won and lost by umpires sometimes.

I personally love the rec parents who join a select team for the first year. They are a hot mess. "She can't steal home!" yes... she can. Delay steals completely baffle them and my personal fav "hold up the ball and call time out" yeah.... that doesn't work here. We're gonna run on you until you stop us but good luck with your time out.

I like the parent that tells there dd "good eye" when the pitch was 10' over her head... good eye? Didnt realize that was close enough for a "good eye" to lay off of????
