Phoenix Summer Slam 2009 Pony National Qualifier

Why is everybody playing on Friday except for the 18's and a couple other age groups? When do the brackets start? We have hotels for Friday and Saturday and it doesn't look like we will even play on Saturday.

Someone didn't put a lot of thought into this schedule!!!! Guess if you travel very far you get to stare at four walls of your hotel!!!!WEEEEEEE!

I'm guessing that the double elimination part (for most age groups) starts on Saturday morning, but I'm just guessing right now.

There are still pool games to be played saturday morning at 8:00 am. 18U plays all day Satuday on Martens Field #5.

My best guess is that everyone will get at least one bracket game saturday afternoon, maybe two if you lose your first. May be some teams heading home after saturday. Not a bad idea when you think about rain. Gives you all day Sunday if there are any "hiccups."

Most tourny's play the winner bracket out first, so the loser bracket has to come back on Sunday to boost the city's economy. I'm sure it will make sense as soon as times are posted. I'm thinking I'm going to be out of vacation days in order to get to a Friday game at 1:15! Forgot we are playing up and most 16's drive themselves! DUH!!!

For those that are interested in the pool play schedule it will be updated this afternoon. Please be aware that only the pool play schedule has been listed thus far on our web site and no team will be idle Saturday as that is when the elimination bracket will begin.

I think that is pretty crappy to cancel the 10U's at such a late time. Just because they are young, does that mean they are not important to a tournament. Way to go!

Can't wait to hear this explanation!!! Doesn't sound like they want to give one or they would have when they posted the cancellation. They don't give any thought to all the parents that got vacation time and hotels.

The tournament we had scheduled for this weekend got canceled 2 weeks ago, another 10u coach called to see if the TD would let us both in this tourney and we were told NO! He wanted to keep it at 4. I guess maybe he should have been a little more flexible. lets just all remember this next year when he posts his dates.

Might want to check your pool schedule you have g4 playing at 8 am on 2 different fields in the 14u .
