Heard that players are starting to get notified about QDN-

Who is in it and from what travel team? Great opportunity to get lots of exposure!

Congrats to the players who made it- :)

From what we have seen in the past you want to be in the KSU camp before QODN. You will get more looks from more coaches in your area of play. DD had 60+ coaches watching the KSU pitching session compared to a few to none Sunday.

Thanks, Shark99.. My DD is on the "wait list" for the pitching camp. Looks like you have to register asap...I was only a day late. :( Hopefully she will get in.

Most of the coaches hang around to watch the first round of games on Saturday evening in QDSn, but there is a huge drop off for Sunday. But it's all about marketing and inviting the coaches in the first place.

Did this last year and Kirt does a awesome job. From what I was told (also) from last year from others you do get seen more at the Kent State camp itself by more teams.
Congrats to the young ladies that did make it this year and enjoy the expierence!

My dd was a pitcher last year for QDSN. Got MVP at one of the games she played in. It was a great experience. But, I agree that you get more looks from more coaches at the camp. So this year she is just doing the camp. We also missed out on the pitching!! :( But she will be doing infield and hitting.

Congrats to you and your player, Les! I was told that over 2000 applied. Looks like there will be 31 teams there. We'll see you in January...hoping that we don't have snow and ice to drive through...it's a LONG and BORING drive there...

Have a great Christmas!!

Miami Valley Xpress 16u Bower has 4-5 i know going.

HITTER23, I was on staff at QDSN as a coach and I believe I had one of the girls from Miami Valley Xpress 16u Bower on my team (Haley). She caught for us. Great player and an all around good kid. It was a pleasure coaching her and watching her play.

Regarding the college coaches on hand, there were 211 college coaches at QDSN throughout the weekend. But it is not about how many were there. Instead, it is about teaching the kids how to market themselves and how to contact coaches. If they don't do the work ahead of time and have the coaches coming to see you specifically, you can't expect a coach to notice you at an event like any of these (unless you are head & shoulders above everyone else talent wise and just stand out). If they do great, but if you don't do the work ahead of time, it is only by chance that you get noticed. Both the North and South Queen of Diamonds events will teach the girls how to market themselves. Even if these girls did not talk to a college coach this past weekend, they now have the tools and knowledge to contact them for future events.
