This may be a tool but watch her hands and hips working together. Hips are not a mile in front of her hands.

"Basically working on all your form"-Crystl Bustos
Listen to her say that.

So.....that would mean hips and hands together. hmmmmmmmmmmmm

*** heres the part that makes no sense. She says the hitters should work both sides evenly. Even if youre not lefthanded, she states that you should still practice it the same as you would on the right side. What? So every hitter is now suppose to be a switch hitter! Ok got it! Thanks!

Question, so are you knowledgeable hitting instructors having all your hitters do T work from both sides of the plate? It doesn't matter if they are lefthand or righthand batters according to Crystl Bustos in the video. The hitters should practice it evenly. Are you doing this?

ps---I found a great training video to teach the Elvis move you guys keep talking about.

I also have been told that with the tool like what she is using that it is good to work both sides the same to develop the muscles on both sides if the body.

Ya, I remember being told that the Titanic was unsinkable, Bernie Madoff was a good guy, and that witches were real in Salem. Go figure?! Oh well, gotta rework my practice plan. I have to teach my hitters to be ambidextrous hitters. That way I can just switch em around at the plate in case they change pitchers in the same inning. Boy will they be surprised when they figure out my players hit evenly on both sides of the plate! I am learning on this site!

Apogee what she is using is not new.

Stretch tubes have been around for years and basically that is all this is. What she said is "this tool also can help build upper body strength" so, use it on both sides to keep balance even if your DD is not a lefty.
My DD started hitting both right and left at age 6. By the time she was 11 she was very proficient from both sides of the plate with a little more power right side and a little better avg. left side (although she only hit left about 25% of the time in travel and HS).
In college she continued to do drills on both sides of the plate but only hit from the right side.
https://new.berecruited.com/athletes/573910 she has more videos/drills on you tube from both sides of the plate just google her name for more video stats etc.

Most know not all hitters will get to the point where they can do this. It requires more practice and lets face it its hard so, a lot of ladies choose to not do it or put little effort out to do it correctly.

If the hitter is not proficient at hitting they need to work to be proficient at one side of the plate then they can get more out of the mechanics of seeing the ball from both sides

Apogee, I have a place where we can meet up in Cleves Ohio (Lester and SL can come too to give input...After we can hit the BIER HAUS :).

I can show you some drills from both sides of the plate then execute these drills by hitting from both sides in the 90/100 mph BB cage. There are numbers on the back wall kinda of like throwing darts with a bat and ball as a hitter you learn how to use the bat to hit the various areas.
Bring your DD... mine said she will free up her schedule to help demonstrate the why and hows as well of hitting from both sides of the plate. She just likes to show off...

Know where you want to go. Do not dream about it plan for it. Set goals and Make It Happen!

Please listen to the two interviews at the end of this U Tube posted below as she talks more about T work and how she approaches hitting.

It may offer some more insight in my opinion.

Straightleg, if you are referring to my kid as the grade-schooler, we are IN. If you weren't referring to my kid, can I still join for Bier Haus beverages?

Seems like Demon may be hindered by not knowing how to take video. He or She seems to do a good job of posting videos that other people shoot but can’t seem to post any of his or hers?????

Over the years I have posted on several softball sites . Apogee is the dark horse or cloaked expert without anything tangible to back up their position (just like what you see on D.F. and YAPPI).

Myself, SL and Tim are one of the few that I know of that have used their DD to show an example of what they are saying or instructing…

I put little credit into those that can only post MLB players or other peoples examples when discussing these hitting areas. Put up or shut up what you have done or your students have done with training…

I have held off long enough on not chiming in. My DD has gone to Straightleg for about 18 months now and she couldn't be happier. He could charge double than what he does and that would be the going rate at just about everywhere else. He does it bc he loves the game and he loves showing eager kids more tools to make them more successful at the game they love too. Is his teaching for everyone? Nope!!!! His DD in the video has also taken time to work with my DD (10 years old) a few times bc she shares his enthusiasm to help younger ones. So she doesn't go to Tenn, Florida or Oklahoma......does that mean she sucks? That is a great kid that has been brought up the right way by a great man! I just cannot stand for the personal bashing! My DD has also had the luxury of a hitting lesson with Howard. He showed her things that still to this day blows my mind. There is more to a successful softball player than just a 'swing'. Howard spent 2+ hours with her (with no breaks) and they both were engaged like it was a new video game! At the end of that lesson (when Howards dinner had been getting cold for the last 30-40 mins and his wife was done reminding him) he asked me for $0.00 If you don't like him or respect his teachings/accomplishments, so be it! Why bash on an open forum? Just my .02

showing a video of your daughter hitting doesn't mean youre correct. We saw that with the Elvis stuff. You could be teaching her wrong for years and not even know it. Stop drinking the kool aid.

I agree, showing videos of DD or instruction does not guarantee one knows what they are doing. Same can be said with NFCA membership, ACE testing and other Professional development one may have.

However; in the example SL posted and other SW instructors over the years that I have seen you need to look at the results and I would say the ladies that have been involved with this type of instruction have fared pretty well . The instructors that have some credentials or training at least shows they have invested some time and training to the game.

It is easy to bash what others are trying to do to help the ladies.
It takes guts to post instruction because one is now open to criticism however; when done properly "that is ok" when there is a constructive sharing of ideas and strategies that have worked between students everyone wins.

I always look for a variety of drills and instruction to keep it fresh while finding ways to deliver instruction to a wide range of ladies. After reviewing your post I do not see any examples of work you have done. Most of your post are just sarcastic with little substance. Do you have a my coach book account? Mine is (coachdennis) you can go there for softball school info including: videos, power points and lesson plans or you can "google" colerain fastpitch and go to handouts for some info you can share with your team. Are you on linked in or any other PD site to help you share you knowledge with others? One thing I will mention about most of the users on this site they are transparent....
