Safety Bag at Tourney

Inspite of rain and less games had a good time at the Farley this weekend.

Lost my best pitcher on Sunday for a least a week and maybe more because of a very deep thigh bruise on the left leg. Collision at first with two very big fast strong players going full out resulting in a knee to the thigh.

I would like to encourage all the tourney's to invest in the safety bags. It's one place to easily avoid a serious injury.

I don't have the Toledo TD's email but if someone does and could PM me I would appreciate it. They run a great tourney with great fields but I'd like to strongly recommend the safety bags. No reason to end a kids summer ball because of a collision at 1.

I like the saftey bag. Others will say it has no place in tournament or travel which I dont understand because I fail to see how it takes anything away from the game unless you like the threat of collsions I guess.

Perhaps someone who has that point of view could explain their thoughts on why it shouldnt be used.

Last year, we had the safety bag at 1st at States and one team we played was always on top of it fielding throws. We lost a player with a knee injury because she was forced into a collision on the orange bag while running to 1st. We complained to blue, but never got a call after 3-4 times.
