34-2 means someone cares about the posting of tournament results. (TD'S) take notes
Related to that, I'd like to know for each tournament if the TD is profiting, or if it's for an org or something like that.
We're pretty lucky in SW Ohio with our USSSA and ASA TDs. Terry Folino, Mike Craig, Phil Sowders, and Mitch in West Liberty all post scores in some capacity (sometimes they use all pro software or something similar). I know the Dayton Metro and other ASA tourneys at Kettering Fields typically do a good job, too.
I'd have you keep my books on any event I would run lol Like you said without (results) the paperwork not done.Is there an advantage to not posting scores?everyone likes to see how there competition or there equivalent does.Agree something needs done, maybe pay to post is the answer.I never personally ran a tournament, though I helped out at several and I know it's a ton of work. I did used to run all of the finances/bank and the raffle for a very large church festival which ran from Thursday PM thru Sunday. I didn't get paid anything of course, and by the end of Sunday evening, I was exhausted. The festival ended at like 9PM, and I was there until after midnight cleaning up, getting moneys ready to deposit, etc. But I knew my job wasn't done until I took care of loose ends and reported back to the pastor and festival chairman in the Monday-Tuesday timeframe how we did financially. I see running a tournament as very similar ... the job isn't finished until the paperwork is done, and the paperwork in this case includes reporting the scores/results. And 43 out of 45 voters agree so far!
Maybe they can post showcase scores with an asterisk saying teams weren't really trying to win.
