Wish I was smart enough to have a secret weapon, or brilliant strategy, but I don't. Our best weapon this past year was "attitude" and "team commitment" no I's, just we's. Almost every kid played better than we had ever expected, relaxed, knowing that they were equally valuable, every play & every pitch matters, and everyone has their back (all the time) .... even when you strike out on a drop in the dirt with the bases loaded, bobble a candy hop, etc.
Okay, yeah, I know what it was ... LEADERSHIP from the Head Coach (JB), and from the Asst Coach (GG). From their leadership & actions, they set the tone mentally for a memorable season and experience. "We" all learned a lot from each other all year.
