so what is cost for the course?

Since the high school does a back ground check thru the FBI for coaches, and you have to pass the NFHS test for coaches, first aid and CPR , I wonder why you would have to go thru all this again, or it just the money for the ASA?

Yep, Johnnies used to complain because he had a full scale background check for his "day job" but he still had to do the ASA required background, which is pretty bare bones. I suppose the ASA would argue that it is administratively far more convenient to have one background provider sending ASA the background report in a format that ASA is familiar with. But it is tempting to conclude that the money has a lot to do with this.

ASA has to receive the background report directly from the provider to ensure it is legit. I seriously doubt anyone could get their report sent for less $10 (e.g. schools charge more than $10 to send a transcript) and ASA would still charge at least $10 to process it manually.

A legitimate gripe is why ASA won't accept any other insurance and bundles it into all their registrations.
