It's funny how they say the Rebublicans are trying to remove the middle class, however, as mentioned earlier our pres doesn't care if these prices go up. That will also eliminate the middle class. I see another Carter years coming upon us.

I am looking for a push mower like when I was a kid. Save on gas and get me in shape at same time. My daughter already said no way shes pushing. I guess pushing a car works too.

Look at the brighter side. How many teams or orgs. will fold next year just because of gas prices and the family budget.

Read the wall street journal. Yes the president can do something. He controls the SEC. All he has to do is tell them that to trade in oil commodities you must have 50% down. The London exchange follows the NY exchange. This would drive down gas prices by 20%. Yet we will form a study group or appoint a CZAR, like everything else we do, because no one makes a decision in Washington. Some of us are old enough to know why the Dept. Of Energy was set up. Why in the heck don't we do away with this drain on our budget and fire them all, since they have not accomplished their main objective?

Our local gas station is $3.99 this morning. I was shocked even though we have been warned for weeks. When it goes over $4.00 I will have sticker shock again. It cost me $80.00 to fill up yesterday at $3.85
Wishing our Tournaments were gonna all be local this summer. We have 3 overnights w/ Nationals and 6 are at least 40 minutes away and 1 is down the street.
With hotel costs, gas, food and walking tacos..its gonna be one expensive summer! LOL

Lou Dobbs just stated on Fox that he guareentees Obama is a 1 term'er if gas prices stay above $4.00/gal ... good interview. He said it is up to the administration to free up the restrictions to allow other oil/energy deposits to be harvested...

Lou Dobbs had no business being on CNN, more conservative than they are. He does excellent segments. This is a real depressor if gas prices don't make ya that way. Few minutes ago it was reported on Fox News that this is the highest EVER (20%) in American history that are relying on government assistance such as Medicare, food stamps, and lo behold, unemployment. I'm old enough to remember good ole Jimmy Carter, and folks, this is too much like the Carter years. 2012 ain't comin soon enough...;&

Does everyone forget what Obama said before he was elected? When asked about the high gas prices before, he said he didn't think they were necessarily too high, it's just that they went up too fast. Does everyone forget that Obama promised to bankrupt the coal industry? When our electric bills triple over the next few years due to the burdensome regulation placed on coal companies will we all be scratching our heads wondering why?

There is enough oil in this country to provide 100% of the oil we need for at a minimum the next few hundred years! Don't get ****ed into the lies. Do some research.

The fact is we are not issuing oil leases, Shell Oil was just denied a huge oil lease off the shore of Alaska after investing 4 BILLION dollars in it. Now they will drill, but it will be somewhere else and it won't employ American workers. Seven more oil platforms were just removed from the Gulf and they are headed for Brazil, where Obama has invested in and subsidized off shore drilling for oil that will then go to China! There is no need to scratch our heads in confusion, the answer is simple...................we've elected the ENEMY!

It is gonna be a tough summer. The closest we travel is 1 hour and 45 minutes for anything. We typically drive an SUV but recently bought a smaller car. Went to fill it up last night and it still cost $61.00 Would have hated to see the cost of the SUV. :confused::confused::confused:

My suburban was $92 today with the .50 discount at Krogers. I wonder if I can get a hitting net, 2 ball buckets, a cooler, DD's bat bag and the DD on my bike???????

@stingrays99:

We'll be driving the hybrid all summer and we have to really crowd to get the SB equipment in. Even in a Camry, that hybrid battery takes a LOT of room.

Maybe it's a good thing that Casey the Wonder Dog isn't allowed at so many tournaments this summer . . . but of course there is a dollar expense involved in having to leave her home.

I'm not going to get into a debate here about why gas prices have been allowed to reach this point. But I do know that for the low to mid middle class, these prices are going to mean that some workers who have to travel to their jobs will find their net earnings ridiculously lowered, some to the extent that it no longer makes sense to work. If oil companies and their shareholders continue to make obscene profits while the middle class suffers so significantly, something is seriously out of whack.
