How do you get the best prices for hotel rooms for your team?

I called the Columbus visitor bureau, they took my info and distributed it to all the hotels within a 15 miles radius, with what I was looking for. I got proposals online, very quickly, that beat any rates I have seen, even through AAA. I called AAA for the phone #. I'd give it to you, but I don't remember it.

you can also go to Hotels.com and ask for rates for more than 10 rooms. They will ask you questions about what ammenities you want and then send out your information to hotels in the area. We stayed at Best Western last year in Dayton and only paid $79 a night, regular rate was $95

Go to choicehotels.com to get their group sales number. When you call that number, the helpful customer service people will do all the work for you. Simply tell them what property you want, and they will quote you a price, send you a confirmation, and have the hotel send you a group contract. All you do is sign the contract, return it by the specified date, and send in a rooming list or have your parents call with their credit card numbers. We have Comfort Suites in a number of areas, and the most expensive room is $74.95 per night. These rooms have microwave/refrigerators which sure makes life a lot easier when traveling with a team. Hopefully it's not too late for the upcoming summer. We've had our contracts since November. I'd still give it a try.

Manitou I would go west towards Hiliard or south towards Grove City to start . That immediate area of Columbus is not the best for hotels ;)

I'd also stay away from the Brice Rd area. I had to work over there before & it is a little on the scary side after dark.

Just dont go east.....Period! Like Bruce mentioned Hiliard is a good area that is right off I-270 on the west side or some nice areas on the North side. North and West of the city would be your best bet. I know of some hotels in that area but Im sure posters from that area would be more of help than I would.

It is one exit past Hilliard, but I would recommend the Staybridge Suites, off the Tuttle Crossing exit.

The hotel is a great business hotel, and you should be able to negotiate a rate close to $110-120 for a single room. They also have some unique suites, with two and three bedrooms feeding into a common room.

The hotel also offers a substantial breakfast and during the week has substantial eats out during happy hour. (Not snacks, an actual meal!) Plus, there are a good number of decent restaurants, plus Tuttle Mall, in the immediate area.

Ask for Polly, who is the group booking manager.

It is right off the outerbelt, so it is a quick trip down to Berliner.

Any Residence Inns by Marriott ;) (Dublin, Worthington-- watch the train track rooms though at RI Worthington) Towne Place Suites By Marriott (Worthington, Gahanna) Springhill Suites by Marriott (Gahanna) SHS, RI have free continental Bfast, TPS has a small grab go danish type bfsat. All about 15-20 mins from the park. Worthington is 10 mins from a new waterpark opening at the zoo for Downtime.....

hope it helps....

I agree with the Brice Rd comment from warriors21. My dd and I stayed there for a fall tourney and while stoping at one of the gas stations we saw a guy getting the P beat out of him as he came stumbeling in the door of the station to ask someone to call 911. Not something I wanted her to see first hand at 11.

I've never stayed here but I have a room for a tourney at Berliner at the Red Roof inn on Stringtown in Grove City, just south of Park off of 71. Rate was $58.00 Normally I'd stay away from them just because of past experience but this is a nice area and it looks very clean and nice so for the $ we will give it a shot.

If your at Berliner I'd reccomend staying in this area , very easy and close to get to park.

we saw several ladies of the night getting arrested when we stayed there. If nothing else, it made for great stories.

They must have been out past curfew.

For Berliner, stay in Grove City..............Straight shot up 71 approx. 5+/- miles and plenty of restaurants & hotels to choose from.

The air from the Rendering Plant (Dead animal carcasses, meat waste) and Methane Gas from the old landfill on 104 filters out just before Exit 100 ;D

Brice Rd area you could contact the Landlords of the empty Best Buy,Cub/Kroger,Sam's Club, and numerous other empty buildings and see if you could practice indoors if it rains..................That area is what happens when a City doesn't have planned development
