The rising gas prices will certainly stall our grand economic recovery. When you and me and the rest of the "Joe Public's" see the high cost of fuel, we start to cut back on expenses such as travel, shopping, and other things that help promote economic growth. Come to think of it, I'm doing that anyway cuz from where I sit, I'm not seeing much in the recovery dept.!

We'll be driving the hybrid all summer and we have to really crowd to get the SB equipment in. Even in a Camry, that hybrid battery takes a LOT of room.

Maybe it's a good thing that Casey the Wonder Dog isn't allowed at so many tournaments this summer . . . but of course there is a dollar expense involved in having to leave her home.

I'm not going to get into a debate here about why gas prices have been allowed to reach this point. But I do know that for the low to mid middle class, these prices are going to mean that some workers who have to travel to their jobs will find their net earnings ridiculously lowered, some to the extent that it no longer makes sense to work. If oil companies and their shareholders continue to make obscene profits while the middle class suffers so significantly, something is seriously out of whack.

That's exactly what Obama and the bring America to it's knees crowd wants. Demonize the oil companies, pit one group against another. Oil companies are still selling fuel, only now the cost is double what it was a year ago.......of course the profits are going to be high. What they never mention is all of the billions they pay in taxes. Take Joe's Pizza shop, sell the same amount of pizza at double the price at 4% mark-up and Joe's Pizza will make record profits.

No one worries about Shell Oil losing 4 BILLION dollars because our anti-drilling government denied them their oil lease off the coast of
Alaska.

Notice Obama always refers to the people he wants to raise taxes on as "millionaires and billionaires"? The fact is, less than 1% are millionaires or billionaires, the rest are small business owners providing jobs and people making over $200k and in a lot of places in this country that isn't a lot of money!
