If someone found a way to put alcohol in the database they should really patent it!
The network also has girls too Lenny
Perhaps because some on here always what to make it a personnel attack because no matter what that person posts Len, we all know you don't like Howard. It is obvious to anyone that reads your responses. Why don't we leave the personnel attacks off this forum and post what is best for the kids.
I think I will just leave this thread to Len and SoCal so they can continue their mutual admiration. Enjoy boys...
Cool site and props to anyone that can help players become better.
I did find this post in the Testimonials quite funny from their website:
"The Bat Jack helped me hit the ball farther and I felt like I had more control of the bat."
- Henry Holman
7 year old "Future Prospect"
The ole 7 year old Future Prospect League is really heating up these days! :lmao:

Here's the clarification straight from the ASA's website even back in 2010:
http://www.softball.org/umpires/clarifications_2010_february.asp
Here's the excerpt from the link:
Question: Can you use a choke up device, molded finger grip, flare cone shape grip?
Answer Yes. Rule 3 Section 1D allows for these devices that at one time were illegal. The rule states they must be attached with safety tape. If they are not attached with safety tape they must be removed.
I would strongly suggest that ASA be contacted to find out exactly what is meant by "safety tape" if a device like this is to be used in a game.

I hate to tell you Hitter, but the link you posted was for last year and the section was rewritten again for this year (see http://downloads.asasoftball.com/umpires/pdf/2011PlayingRuleChangeswithComments.pdf).
Rule 3 Section 1D: The safety grip can be made of cork, tape or other synthetic material and must be permanently attached and cover the handle region of the bat. No bare metal may be exposed in the area covered by safety grip. It shall not be less than 10 inches and not more than 15 inches. Any attachment such as a molded finger grip, flare cone, or choke up device must be attached to the grip with safety tape. Resin, pine tar, or spray substances are permissible on the safety grip only.
Comment: Better defines the safety grip of a legal bat.
:lmao::lmao::lmao:
You probably have noticed a while ago that there is a "Good 'Ole Boys Club" that rolls around on this forum and believe me when I tell you that they are never wrong no matter what is said or implied. Therefore, you sir, must be incorrect because the lemmings have deemed it so. If you continue you will soon have Bustos, Candrea, Slaught, Enquist, and others of note all up in your a$$.:lmao::lmao:
Len
Thank you for the help and now I still need to understand...."Must be attached to the grip with safety tape."
I think if we asked 5 umpires this question, we would not get the same answer in my opinion.
Thanks again for trying to help.
Howard
This is Bustos, and I don't know where you come off saying those things. I have never attacked anyone with anything and I can say never has Candrea or the others. Just because people know me they don't speak for me or my friends. Just because I can pick up the phone when I choose and have a question answered I have never said that our way is the only way. Just because people I have worked with want to fight with people on this forum just because they don't have anything else to do doesn't mean you have the right to bring me into your argument. You are just humoring each other who have nothing to do. Just because I am asked to do something to clairify a questions doesn't mean my answer is the only answer. There are a bunch of softball people in this world and they all have different ways to get the same result. Thats why I use my real name instead of a made up one. So try to keep my name out of this, and if you have a question please feel free to call or email gotbustos@gmail.com. Your fight is among someone else not me.
I can't believe a little piece of rubber and velcro can cause such an argument!
For your information we have spoken with people and my opinion is that the device being discussed was developed as a training aid, not to be used in a game. So just keep it for what it was designed for and stop all the arguing, please. It's all just things that were developed to help the kids with one style of gripping the bat.
In the futrue I have my own name on here now so feel free to ask questions of me if you want my opinion instead of listening to what people think my opinion is
