Well it is going to happen. There is going to be a NLL /Toledo City challenge. It is going to be held at Pacesetter on a Saturday. Each team will play two games.

NLL Teams

Anthony Wayne

Perrysburg
Rossford
Southview

Toledo City

Clay
SUA
NDA
Central Catholic
Whitmer

This should be an awesome event.

Springfield has drawn- Central Catholic and NDA

It would be great if they paired them up strength wise,...Rossford vs. Central or even bracket play them.. Let's say CL #1 vs. NLL #4
CL #2 vs. NLL #3
CL #3 vs. NLL #2
Cl #4 vs. NLL #1
Base it on last year's league standings results. Gives everybody something to shoot for to be a part of. With only 8 teams, you could even have a losers bracket that plays for 3rd and 4th.

Softball always cutting edge, Imagine if they did this with boys/girls BBall too. Have it at UT or BGSU that would be a great draw.

hey Uber what do you think the draw will be in fans?

500?
750?

I also heard they are going to invite college coaches to the event! Not sure how many will show considering they will be in the middle of their seasons.

Fastpitchfan11, I think that they will get around 750 for the event. Most of these schools have a good fan base. I would love to see some college coaches there. As you stated this may be a tough one for them.

The schools will need to promote this with there students. This is a first for this area and it should be a fun, but competitive event. I heard that BCSN and The Blade will be involved with coverage. If promoted and ran well this event could stick for years.

Being new to the world of fastpitch ( the best sport not only to coach but to watch as a fan) I will do my best to promote this. I have already marked the day in my calendar and sent e-mails :) :) :)

lol...You are one of those people that needs things explained to you...so let me explain it too you...the quote "....and two of those losses will come from Rossford"
Thats classless.

That is generally why I just skip over anything you post, I only read it in hopes that maybe you had something positive to say or to add. ;)

Saved. Not sure if you hurt any feelings but predicting Rossford to have 2 of the 3 losses for the NLL ?when the event is about 6 months away shows one of two things. Lack of class or just plain jealousy. Now I am a TLC guy since my DD is at NDA so I do not know the history of Rossford and Southview`s past meetings but maybe Everitt has had some succsess against Southview? None the less this will be a GREAT showcase of talent for both the TCL and NLL I can not wait.

643dp the only other one that maybe a matchup would be AW vs. Clay. Not many of the schools have updated their softball schedules with this information. Maybe FastPitch11 can help out here? :-? :-?

As you all know I'm an A.W. blue and white bleeder, but if A.W. draws Clay and St. Ursula, I'd be hard pressed to raise the "2 win" flag without playing the games. We split with Clay last year, ( by split I mean we lost at Sectionals and were winning 5 -1 in the top of the 5th when the game was called due to coldness during the regular season), lost to Whitmer, and didn't play St. Ursula or Notre Dame.
Let's just say Rossford doesn't play Clay or St.Ursula. Clay and St.Ursula would have to go 1 and 3 to fulfill Saved's prediction of the city league going 3 - 7. I don't think that's going to happen. Too much talent on both of those teams.
;) Saved,....I think it's just being pointed out, that even though it's your opinion, which you are entitled to, one shouldn't call out a team by name for losses. Who knows, some stud pitcher could move into their district by softball season. That's how A.W. got Gill, she moved here from Florida.
