I am going to be interested to see how it plays out.

For Clay I am curious to see if they throw their #1, I notice she hasn't pitched in back to back games this year, against Whitmer or save her for the championship game.

So I say this: If Clay throws their #2 against Whitmer it will be Clay over SUA.

If they throw their #1 the first game and #2 in the championship game or their #1 both games It will be SUA over Clay in the championship game.

clay looking pretty solid right now and their number one graham threw all 11 in the win over ida . I like their sticks right now too so im taking clay over whitmer and clay over central in finals. All 4 teams are pretty solid and the matchups are tough calls to make. Should be some nice games if weather cooperates.

I believe that the Clay vs Whitmer game is up in the air. Considering that neither Clay or Whitmer played to their abilities.

Both teams have good sticks and pitching staffs, I think it will come down to which ever teams makes the least amount of mistakes in the field.

Clay has lost only 5 games, 4 to top 10 state ranked teams, and one to Anthony Wayne in which they collected 11 hits, and left 10 on base. You have to be able to score, and continue to score to beat them. They seem to have the most potent offense at the present. Every game will have to be played of course, and anything can happen, but this #1 seed looks pretty good.

Any other predictions? What does everyone else have to say about these four teams?

If you rated the top 4 coaches in the TCL before the season it would have been these 4 coaches and staffs. All 4 have distinct styles in game. Fig seems very intense during games, Z seems to never be surprised by anything that happens, Norm seems like he enjoys every second of every inning and Rad likes to work the umps from the first pitch to the last pitch.

I love the TCL playoffs, should be intense fun softball.

Go Panthers!!!

im with thunder road on this call. clay arguably has played one of the toughest non league schedules in the state. it is supposed to payoff at this time of the year i believe.there bats have been coming around and the pitching has been solid all year so its hard not to like them in the crunch time games.

First of all, big congrats go out to CCHS and Coach Kujawa as the Irish are headed back to the final four for the first time since 2003. I am going to have to copy both Heat29 and Cassiegirl's picks. I like Clay over Whitmer and CCHS over SUA. I think these two teams are the hottest right now (despite Clay's apparently uninspired performance against Waite last night as they scored only one run and got outhit) and have the better coaching staffs. Throughout the season, my prediction was Clay and Whitmer for the championship game. Now that Whitmer has dropped to the 4th seed, this obviously isn't going to happen. Whitmer is capable of beating anyone as they lost to the other three by only one run in the regular season. I would like them over CCHS or SUA, but I don't like them in this matchup with Clay. As far as SUA, I realize they have an outstanding record, but they just haven't impressed me throughout this season as I thought they would. In the championship game, I'm taking Clay over CCHS. Certainly nothing would surprise me as all four of these teams are capable of winning the championship.

JV Final Four:

#4 St. Ursula @ #1 Notre Dame 11:00 a.m. Saturday
#3 Central @ #2 Clay 11:00 a.m. Saturday

It was a three-way tie for first. In regular season play, Notre Dame lost only to Clay, Clay lost only to Central, and Central lost only to Notre Dame. They had to draw for seeds 1-3. Clay has won all 5 JV Championships since joining the TCL.

Shawshank... I may differ with you on the coaching at Waite compared to Clay. Coach Turner may be one of the best. Anyone can take a bunch of great athletes and win games (i.e. Clay).... but Tiffany has to develop talent. I have not seen or heard of the Clay coaches working with the younger girls or even the older girls in the off season to help develop them. This is not anything bad towards the Clay coaches because they don't need to work as hard to develop players like Waite does. Most of the Clay varsity play travel ball, I don't think any of the Waite girls play any other season except the high school season.

I said nothing of Waite's coaching staff. After I read over my post a couple of times, I'm not sure how you could come to the conclusion that I did. My only reference to Waite was that Clay played them and didn't appear to be impressive that day based on everything else I've seen from them this year. I apologize if it sounds as though I was saying anything negative about Waite's staff as I definitely did not intend to.

I think that is dead on, Thanks for posting that, I started going to the championship games in 2004. I loved the atmosphere, the 2006 game might have been my favorite, it was at Detwiller and had been rained out so much it was on a weeknight played under the lights on a slow pitch field, foul pole to the stands on each side was packed. It was very cool.
