I would like my 16u player to use the site and read some items available. It's would be a great way to enhance their knowledge base. However, there are other parts I would only want an 18 year old (legal adult) to access. Younger than 16u, I would have to really monitor their time.

That is a funny post ! Perhaps we should add a spell check function? There are many kids on this site, so I'm glad the Moderators do an excellent job of keeping it clean.

I don't know about the rest of you or if it's a function that needs to be turned on - but when ever I have a mis-spelled word, it gets underlined and all I have to do to right click for a list of possible words to replace it. Always wondered why there are so many spelling errors. Now grammar is a whole 'nother issue ;&

Yes, because theyre the ones PLAYING the game, and its a YOUTH sport.

Also, not every parent makes the same effort in regard to their DD's softball, so im sure theres some on here looking for info they need whether its looking for a team, scores, clinics they would like to go to, college info, etc..

I think the real question is.... Do the girls that actually play the games want their parents on this site ??

My daughter likes to go on sites like these for a few reasons.
1. She does research on her opponents
2. She likes to read up on tips for her position and for hitting.
3. She likes to see how crazy all of the softball parents are so she's less worried about her own!

my DD doesn't get on here, but i do share items with her from time to time....she'd probably roll her eyes about her "statman" dad fo hers....I'm betting that most teen girls are 2 busy with facespace and mybook, IM's, boys, rolling their eyes and learning how to drive

You must use Firefox. It has a built in spell check. It does not however check to see if you are using the right version of a word. Ex. They're going back to their house over there.

DD has been viewing on a regular basis since she entered HS ball to research out of conference opponents, and it is great, because she does get some tips on her position that if her parents told her about it would be the eye roll thing. Something about parents giving teenagers advise that falls on deaf ears;&

I say yes. However, you really have to watch some. I let my dd open a screen name and within 5 minutes she had posted stuff that shouldn't be posted online EVER! I had to have the moderators involved to clean it all up! :lmao: I wasn't laughing at the time however! Depends on the kid.

You're right! Now if the poll was about myspace I would definitely say No!
