This is about them, not us! I would much rather see them here then My Space.

Why not? If everyone "plays" nice it is a great place for them to get some info. Like another parent posted if the info comes from someone other than their own parent they are more likely to listen. My daughter isn't on here much except when she wants to check tournament info in the summer and fall. For the most part she relies on me to get her some info.....but then again she is only 13 and is busy with Myspace and all the junk most of the time. But again there are a lot of valuable resources on here that they can learn a lot from. Especially once they hit high school.

But they don't play nice so I am glad my DD doesn't want to get on OFC. Who wants to have their DD's see all the personal attacks? Seeing how the adults in their fastpitch community behave. That will make them feel good. Gives them an okay to behave that way. No thanks. Mean people sock and OFC has a lot of sockers!

And yes, a couple words are spelled wrong because of the censors. I know many don't like to overlook spelling errors and are ready to jump but hold off.

My daughter is welcome to read anything on OFC. Personally, I would never post anything here that I wouldn't say in front of her anyhow. I prefer not to shelter her from other people's comments - let her experience the entire array of remarks.

(Besides, if she can be exposed to junk like MySpace, YouTube, Americas Next Top Model, anything on MTV, etc..., this is like Walt Disney!)

Trust me, the stuff that they can see on myspace and other sites is way worse than what a few members and former members have put on this board. What these kids are doing on the internet these days is down right disturbing , and that's saying something, considering who my friends are. lol

Yeah Good Thinking.

I guess the kids know how mean their parents can be by listening to them yell at their games. :lmao:

My DD checks it out occasionally and uses it to keep in touch with a couple coaches/friends. She sometimes will read something about hitting/pitching that sparks her interest and will come and ask about it.....AMAZING. As far as MySpace, it's been banned in my house!!!!

Just for the record, Facebook is for High School and older (Was supposed to be just for college kids), but is now the adult my space. Myspace is for Jr. High and lower, if you can believe it. DD does not view OFC, but talks with softball players on facebook. They do not take softball as serious as we adults do.

yes we should..My DD has read plenty on here...some good some not so good...But just like in the real world it is My job to coach and teach her into what is right and wrong And I believe you must expose you kids to as much as possible so they can be well rounded. You can not shelter them...just because there may be some "vulgar" or "untastefull" comments...JMHO

I say yes. However, you really have to watch some. I let my dd open a screen name and within 5 minutes she had posted stuff that shouldn't be posted online EVER! I had to have the moderators involved to clean it all up! :lmao: I wasn't laughing at the time however! Depends on the kid.

sad,
Are you really gonna leave us hanging like that?? You can't just throw that out there and not give us a taste.:D

If my DD's want to check out this site, they are welcome. But I promise you I will not check out their MY Space page. Those teens out there are scarier than Daddy Dice.

You must have a very exceptional DD, and I mean that in a good way. I have a myspace account simply as a way to contact some of the team members, I also see what some of these little heathen post on there. They can drop more "F" Bombs and Trash then a B-52 Stratofortress on a bombing mission over Hanoi. To Trashy for my taste and my DD's.

FASTPITCH! Anything else, And you're playing to SLOW!
