Forced indoors, the Bees moved to a perfect 4-0 in CCAC play by sweeping a doubleheader from Trinity Christian Saturday afternoon in the Ambrose Dome. St. Ambrose won the opener 9-1 in five innings before completing the sweep with a 6-1 win to move to 19-9 overall and 4-0 in the conference.

SAU scored in every inning in the Game 1 win. After Trinity Christian took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, St. Ambrose came back with two runs on back-to-back run-scoring triples from Morgan Krieger and Libby Munsterman in the bottom of the frame.

The Bees poured it on from there.

Madelyn Thompson had a two-run double in the second. Colleen Barrett had an RBI triple in the third. Krieger ripped a two-run home run in the fourth. And Barrett and Christina Pembrook had RBIs in the fifth.

Barrett finished a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate, while Krieger, Olivia McClintock and Jasmine Bowman each had a pair of hits. SAU pounded out 13 hits as a team.

Pembrook got the win after allowing just three hits and one run over five innings. She struck out two.

Pembrook then collected three hits and a pair of RBIs in the second game. Bowman picked up two more hits and Barrett added a two-run single in the 6-1 win.

Krieger's RBI double in the bottom of the first gave St. Ambrose a quick 1-0 lead. The Bees then scored three times in the second, highlighted by Barrett's big hit. Pembrook singled to score Barrett in the inning and added an RBI triple in the sixth. Munsterman brought in the other SAU run with a triple in the fifth.

Jane Thomas worked four innings and struck out four to earn the win. Sarah Willman and Ella Specht combined to allow just two hits over the final three innings.

Sunday's originally-scheduled doubleheader at Robert Morris has been postponed so the Bees will next return to action Tuesday at Roosevelt.
