Anderson, has a new rocketech, or more like a rocketflex. Comes out in October, it has a composite handle and what looks like the same barrel of a rocketech. E-mailed anderson and was confirmed that it will be out in October. Thats all I know about it.

IMO every year is a good year for a RT. That is if your DD can swing it. My DD has a '05 & '08. Made the mistake and bought her a CF4 in '10 and she doesn't like it. Needless to say she has a $300 cage bat. Looking forward for the "RocketFlex for Christmas!

Just curious and not trying to take the thread off track.....do you really think the bat makes that much difference than the actual way the hitter approaches the mechanics of their swing?

I think it does! As you know, most DD have poor mechanics but there are some that have great mechanics. The ball jumps off some bats and doesn't off others. We all agree that Crystal can park a $10 wal-mart bat. Better bats give those with better mechanics that little something extra and it gives those with poor mechanics hope! My DD loves the 04 RT. She doesn't like a flex bat but agrees the Phoenix is a hot bat.

I agree with you Hitter......my dd has put many over the fence and hits with alot of power and she uses a light Demarini Bustos that cost I think $150. She doesn't like heavy or end loaded bats but still can add alot of pop to her ball. People always tell me she should be swinging a heavier bat...why, so she can strike out? It all depends on what is comfortable to the hitter, not what bat everyone else is using. It's all in the swing, not the bat.

Not sure, I agree that mechanics are most important. But, when you see small college players hitting it over with check swings, I would give credit to the bat not mechanics of the check swing.

DD got a Xeno towards end of year, she really likes it and that sound that it makes. She hit first homerun over the fence (about 220 ft.) at 12u. She had a CF4 insane that she didnt like at all $300 batting cage bat now!! Before that it was always Easton synergy bats (crystal, clarity, and speed).

I agree Julie thats its all in the swing however, put a cheap wal-mart bat in her hand and see where her avg. goes! USSSA also agrees with me because if they didn't, there wouldn't be an Illegal bat list.

Absolutely! I've seen way too many horrible swings and off-center hits clear the fence. There's a reason the MLB does not allow aluminum or other material bats. There's a reason for limiting exit speeds of bats. There's a reason some bats are banned. If anyone thinks that today's bats do not make much difference then they are living with their head buried in the ground.

I've seen horrible swings with $300 bats and you get one result....a strike out.

We have alot of former college and pro-softball players in my women's league and we use cheap walmart bats. We have many home runs with no problem....it's the hitter, not the bat.

Great bat + bad swing=???

Cheap bat + great swing= good hits, some HR's

Great bat + Great swing= BOMBS!

Your right a bat will not make you a better hitter, but a great bat will make a great hitter an amazing hitter.

From Howard's own mouth Bustos said I can hit the ball 300 ft, why would I change my bat and swing. he said "so you can hit the ball 400ft.!" :yahoo:

Anyone that suggests that the bat does not matter is simply not paying attention. Some say bat technology killed the slow pitch game. First came the double wall demarini. That was the first time I can recall outfielders moving back based on the bat, not the hitter. That is also about the time that rounding the bases was no longer required after hitting a homerun. Then came the original Miken Ultra, which was the sickest bat EVER! I actually quit swinging it, after I hit a lady sitting in the bleachers of another field. Then came the bat standards and lower core and compression balls. Manufacturers figured out that they could beat the bat standards by building a bat that got hotter as you used it. That is why you would see dudes beating their $300.00 bats against trees. When that was not enough for Mr. 160 lb hero to hit a bomb, he started shaving his $300.00 bat.

There is a reason one bat costs $40.00 and another $300.00. A good bat will add both feet and mph's.

It is interesting to see some college players not be able to make it through the minors because of their swing mechanics and using wood verses other bats made of different materials in college. Some of it is mechanics and if your head is buried or you are bug's bunny crawling in a hole makes no difference. The Sun can shine on a dogs butt every once in a while.

So look at your team batting averages as sometimes data tells a story.

I wonder what Les and Kavins team batting averages are? They have pretty good mechanics in my opinion.

Just my opinion....

Les and Kavin have awesome teams, and I'll bet most everyone if not everyone on their teams swing expensive, current technology bats during games. Also, check out Candrea's team or all the top college teams...I bet there are no single wall 7046 aluminum bats being used during games. I wonder why that is??? I'll tell you why.....because the bats of today are on steroids compared to wood and single wall 7046 aluminum bats of yesterday. A good hitter can hit with an old-school bat, but they hit the ball a heck of a lot better with today's bats. If that tidbit wasn't true there would not be a market for the expensive bats.
