Many moons ago, in the first travel game I ever coached (at a Toledo Tournament) I had an unusual indocrination to the world of travel ball. ?Keep in mind that I did not know anything about the other teams, their reputations, who was elite and not elite...etc. ?After my first game we played what I found out was one of the major elite teams not only in Ohio, but the midwest.
To make a long story short, we won the game 2-1. ?The players on the other teams flicked off my players, shouted obscenities across the field, refused to come out and line up after the game. Instead, they threw the garbage from their dugout onto the field. ?The coach also refuse to line up but he did graciously say, "I can't beleive we lost to you" and stormed off of the field. ?That teams parents were berating the parents on my team and one of them had to be restrained from attacking one of my parent. ?I stood there in a state of shock with my jaw hanging in the dirt. ?The umpires collected the balls and left the field without doing a thing. ?Again, my jaw dropped to the dirt. You could tell they did not want any part of that team's players, coaches or parents. ?Maybe this is not ":bush league tactics" but definately bush league behaviour. ?
I found out later that they were know for that type of behaviour.
Yes, that organization is still around.
