Ok explain laser 04 refuse to play because of bad call at the plate ? Lightning take 1-0 lead. Have lost all respect disgusting display these girls are 10!!! If they refuse to play its a forfeit. never seen anything like this at any level. Truly sad the girls have no idea what is going on. check you ego and let them play bad calls go both ways a even out. They basically let him throw the ump out of the game . Wow just wow. People missing the point it's about teaching them the game and more important teaching them life lessons and how to be good teammates and people.

Are you saying the other team failed to take the field after a call until the umpire was removed?
Is the “they” you are talking about the TD?
At 10 you get the newer and younger umpires. If there was a disagreement over a call and the other team stopped play or refused to take the field the umpire should have called the game as a forfeit. Seems like there is more to the story…

The lasers coach refused to take the field until a second ump showed up over 30min. There are supposed to be two umps per game. We played yesterday with one and there were bad calls a first and third it happens. This was a play at the plate a field ump would have made no difference . Just sad display I feel bad for both team girls. They protested before the game started because there was 1 umpire and if there was a bad call they wouldn't play. I agree forfeit should have been called define bad call ? it's all a judgement and they do the best they can .

Yep, should be forfeit they left the field there was only 2 outs! And this was an ASA tourney Dayton metro. I'm baffled. Enough said.

I cannot believe a TD director would allow this...I hope if it was a timed game they at least kept the clock running so they did not impact the other teams....

One ump two umps four umps, it doesn't matter. I don't care if you flip a coin at beginning of games and rotate bad call to the team it affects.... You're Grown ups act it!

Im an apologist for nobody, but this was the same umpire that EVERY team had a problem with all day Friday. This ump didn't even know some of the rules when I attended the pre game meeting/coin flip. This is the same ump that would blurt out" 1 and 3 count"...........yep, meaning 3 balls and 1 strike. This was a young kid, 15 if rumor is true, and they let him ump a game by himself? Whos really at fault here? I give this kid credit for trying to do a job and I believe he was trying his butt off, but umpiring is not what he is cut out to do. If he is so green, how does he get games for Dayton Metro?

In addition, he was calling strikes against girls where the ball was above the helmet (Lightning game). He was calling strikes that were in the dirt and the catcher had to scoop the ball up on a batter that did not swing (every game he umped).

To set the record straight the lightning coach didn't even want to start the game with that ump and Mike said give him a chance and if it gets bad then we will call time and wait for a different one
and both coaches agreed and it took one inning and that's it. By the way the lighting coach also asked him to leave and that's the facts the guy in charge was sitting there watching and he was in a hurry to get a new ump as bad as both coaches. Maybe you should know what really happened and then try to start rumors that a good guy is a bad coach

And let's not forget the dropped third strike that goes to the backstop and the kid legs it out and he calls her out because she swung. He didn't even know the simple rules to the game and he is by his self at a NQ. Just want to say thanks to the lightning coaches for handling it as well as they did also and that little pitcher they have is the real deal to.

Moreover this hateful rant that presented none of the facts was posted on two places on this forum. Seems to me like someone has some kind of agenda to try and do a smear campaign.... the guy running the place wouldn't have pulled him if he truly believed the coaches were in the wrong. On a side note the lightning coaches were understanding and on the same page from my understanding and their young pitcher was an absolute stud!

Both coaches did find the uic and he was taken to the coach pitch field and within 5 min had that field screaming at him and the coaches had to get the rule book out to show him the rules
