This has to take the cake, I had a opposing coach follow a players family out to their car and offer them a roster spot.
I dont know if theres not enough girls to go around or too many teams for the amount of players, but i have seen some of the most unethical behavior ive ever seen in the game this fall, worse than ive ever seen before.

I think winning is alittle overated, it is important but it is more important to teach our young players respect

Will it ever change? lol
9-10, develop passion and basic skills for the game and try to teach parents to relax and get away from the back stop
11-12 develop passion and advance basic skills for the game and try to teach parents to relax and hope they go to right field to watch the game
13=14 maintain passion, deal with the overwhelming emotion of the players and keep an eye on the parents near the coolers with the plastic cups, lol
15-16 maintain passion, preparing kids for college exposure and hope the parents keep coming to the park and keep an eye on the ones with the collers and plastic cups, lol
17-18 no idea yet! lol but I can assume the kids will play and the coach's will only be monitoring the parents with the coolers and plastic cups, lol

I agree with you Hitter23, some of the things I have seen this year so far are ridiculous. There is actually teams out there sending people to other teams try-outs to recruit, this tells me something about the quality of thier organization.

I personally prefer left field. I catch more foul balls there. Oh, wait..........I do have to give them back, don't I?

It really was just lemonade officer.

All kidding aside, it does seem more prevalent this year as opposed to previous years. I would imagine there will always be some people willing to put morals and ethics on the back burner to satisfy their own selfish needs.

This occurred at our team tryouts this year also. It really is a pretty shabby tactic.

one thing I've been pondering is that now that more teams have their own tournaments... does that lead to the "host" having the ability to have all the contact information for each player and much easier for them to contact them. Maybe this isn't anything new. Hopefully the coaches are setting the stage so that the girls don't want to leave even when these jokers are throwing bush league tactics at the girls and their parents.

Good point, I hope the girls and parents can see through these kind of tactics also and find better quality organizations to play with.

18's so far has been by far my favorite lol...kids still getting ready for college ball or playing in exposure tourneys like the 16's...but at this point it seems most of the parents realize the end of their DD's summer travel days are here and so far it seems to me to be a lot more enjoying the DD and her skills then complaining :lmao:

We have actually had a parent inside the organization recruiting for another blossoming organization......

I am guessing that he is trying to get things going in the "other" organization so he......Uhhhh I mean his DD has options for next year.....

Lets hope she has options.....

Very bizarre!

Hitter23, was that at your last tourney? or what? I would like to hear more at tomorrow's coaches meeting.... I'm curious which of our girls they approached...

Ron -

If you are referring to us, nothing could be further from the truth. We are friends with those in the "other" organization. There is nothing wrong with being on good terms with other organizations. We would like to see all organizations be successful in NWO. We have helped them just like another organization helped us find our catcher (Thanks to the Buckeye Heat, a class act!). That is how relationships are built. We are totally committed to the Irish as it shows with my BOD position and the work that we are doing for our team and the organization. Our daughter will be with the Irish for years to come, we are not looking for "options".

Move on..... No one needs the BS.

Jen

Great post Jen! Its all about relationships, there is nothing wrong with working and supporting other ogranizations.
