Thanks Bad Medicine, we really have not had an impact on this years #1 seed but we will in the future.
The tread may have been started because of us, because as I said earlier "burnt"
all I can say is the grass may look greener, but can wilt just as fast.

why would you even talk about a young girl like this. She is doing what is best for her in the long run im sure. From word that has gotten around i heard that some girls were chewed out last year and it was allowed to go on. I dont think thats right.
coaches should not let that go on, so why would it matter if this girl leaves?
i dont know you guys but i just read what you were talking about and i thought it was wrong.

Poached or over easy, course you always could go scrambled. This thread is making me hungry.

Easy CallingCadence...poaching only happens in Ohio.

Hey, has anyone heard of anyone trying to poach an Org. Director? ;&
Nobody would poach Urbana Fan so you are safe, he gambles on his team like Pete Rose. Which is why I owe him a dbl cheeseburger. LOL UF!

I haven't seen any comment about the parents that are always looking for "greener pastures" for thier daughters. It seems that there is a small portion of the fastpitch society that are constantly jumping from team to team, even during the season. What are the coaches thoughts?

What about a junior high coach who also has a travel team and poaches girls from other travel teams while they are playing for their school team?

Flatline- I don't know what they are called today, but we had a name for them when I played ball. As a coach, I take notice of softball wh*res. You never know if they are on different teams every season because they leave for good reason or they are not wanted back. ALOT are not asked back or removed mid-season because they are like cancers on the team and that is why they hop so much. Most of the time it is the parents who are unhappy that their kid is not the star of the show and are willing to hop from team to team to find the spotlight. I wish parents would just let their kids play on the field do the talking and not try stuffing them down everyone's throat or making excuses for every mistake they make.

Not a darn thing wrong with it!! Give them their moneys worth or be ready for them to walk. Not aware of this players particular situation, but no player should have to be held back from achieving what travel ball is all about, becoming the best they can be. Get over it and move on.;&

Now, If you have read through the whole thread you will have (or should have) figured out what organization the young lady got poached from.

We have not yet heard from the offending coach.

Step up and give your side coach.

Maybe we should start "OFC Court"
Don't take the law into your hands, Take them to "OFC Court"

Urbanafan- i just wonder why you are so interested in keeping a fire lit under this? It apparently doesn't even involve your organization, but you started the post and you keep stirring the pot. Other than the general discussion, nothing good is going to come from this and really, it's not anyone elses business other than the player, parents, and the two coaches involved. From looking at many of your posts, it appears you enjoy creating drama.

SBcrazy,
The team that got poached from is a good friend of mine. The poaching coach, i thought had more integreaty than that. I do not believe in poaching. It is true that the player left. But the seed was planted by another coach. If my friend does not want to name the offending coach and the offending coach does not come forward. Then so be it.

But I would want to know what kind of coach is coaching my DD.

I may start these controversial threads, But I just speek the truth and my mind. Most everyone on here knows me and I will never Hide.

These coaches who go after players that have already commited to a team need to BACK OFF.

Poaching is wrong, Very wrong
