I've learned that dads should shut it down when wearing daughters team logo on hat shirt and probably under ware! The college coach does't care that your daughter play's for that team that rhymes with TASER!!!:lmao:

You might be surprised, I think they care more than you might think.

Run26:

omg, that goes on my list of things to tell parents not to do at exposure tournaments/clinics. While we might choose to let the hitter swing away because it is an exposure event, the notion that the parent would challenge the coach so publicly if the Head Coach chose to bunt is astounding. Can you say "cancel that interest" on behalf of the college coach?

CGS,

You are correct on the "Cancel that interest" statement. Let me try and explain it a little more:

Each team had 3 coaches which consisted of current Miami team members. The coaches on the winning team won their fall warm-ups from the university.

Head coach and all assistants sat in the press box behind home plate and watched all 3 games. They kept constant contact with the coaches and were taking notes.

The whole day was more of a tryout with some very talented players (some of them came from AZ & CA) and the coaches were evaluating all of them.

Bottom line......they ask you to bunt - you better put it down. Yes, it's a SAC but at least you'll prove to them that you can move a runner & you're NOT A SELFISH PLAYER!

Just cause you think it, doesn't mean you should say it.

I heard it too.

BTW, not sure but it could have been the CA parents... Maybe they thought it was too far and too expensive to demonstrate bunting and team player skills. They might be right but again that doesn't mean you should say it...

So if I understand this correctly, the decision to ask for a bunt could have come from the actual coaches of the Miami softball team, who were in contact with the students coaching the teams at the event. If that were the case, Dad's response was a kiss of death.

FYI: I heard it also, and it was said by the parent of an Ohio girl.

No CGS, the coaches of the camp teams were Miami U players. The coaches were sitting in the press box.

Sounds like the Miami U players had a girl bunt as a strategical move on their own. I don't believe the coaches in the press box would call in a moments notice to ask the girl to bunt.
