DD is open enrolled in a nearby district. Our home district has financial issues. She will be a freshman next year. Would consider sending her back to home district if levy passes but worried that she would have to sit a year if we don't make the move now. So can she play anytime in home district? or only if she goes as freshman? Thanks

Emily is open enrolled in a neighboring district as well. I was told that since she started high school at Manchester, she may not change schools even if it is back to her home district without sitting a year. The only way she can change schools without sitting a year is if we moved to another district. Anyway, that's the way I understood it when the lady was explaining it. :)

You have until she enters her first day of HS, but the school she attends will be her home school. If you wish to change during HS, it's either relocate or sit out a year, but doesn't apply until the first day of HS.

If you are currently open enrolled at another district, you can return to your home district school without sitting a year. Essentially you have one free return to your home district without sitting out a year. See OHSAA bylaw 4.7.2 Exception 5
