I'm with you. As I see it, the only question with Whitmer is who will fill the spot at shortstop. The easy move is slide Temple over, and fill in third with one of the girls coming up. They have a few to chose from that can step in at third and do a good job. Pitching should be solid, so as I see it, they have a good chance of over-acheiving expectations.

Saved, If I had to guess I would say Hayli Erdman would be their pitcher. They did have another one that was a junior but I have heard she has an injured shoulder or something of that nature.

I can't remember her name off the top of my head, but she pitched for the Irish last summer. I was impressed. I think she is a fresman, but may be a sophmore. They have a couple of other girls to look at as well.

;) But I Do know a lot of those girls at Whitmer for SOME REASON...;> ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

Yea a Junior should move right in at Third and that Temple, you would think go to short. Now as for pitching they do got a Senior, forget her name & a Junior named Lori Thomaswick , which can step in if Ergman has probs or pitch games to give her rest. I do see this team being the #4 seed or 3rd..with no Probs :-/ :'( ;) ;)

NoW as me being a Start hommer(92 Grad) I don't see them doing well utile they start a FARM program to get those girls interested from a young age on up. And that can be done, IF the Head coach moves on it and does his best to work with AD to get one started . I bet he/she can also work with Martin Drain or maybe Magic and put teams in to there summer leagues.

No reason why Start from year to year doesn't have a good team with all the talent they can harness in that area. Of course he/she could be doing this very thing now and I could look like a but head. Which is fine. But from the outside looking in nothing seems to be happening...

Say Maybe Rich Arbinger (Starts LoNNGG TIME baseball coach, Prob best in city EVER won what 2 state championships and runner up 3 times ) can have a DD or Son run the softball program there....HMMMMM Yea!! that would make some other schools uneasy
::) :-? :-? :cool: :cool:

moving temple to ss at whs is not a good idea shes a senior never played the spot and they need to get somone used to the position just like they did with gorsuch as a frosh,playing the hot corner is difficult so thers no reason to change just mho

The easy strategy is to move Temple to SS, she is a gifted athlete and she can make the transition. The easy move is not always the best move, but I know that Fig realizes all of the implications both ways. Next year is next year, and there is plenty of talent coming through the ranks.

Uncle_Bubba, I am just curious as to where all this talent is at WHS? Last year WHS' JV team didnt make it to the TCL final four, losing the bid against an outmanned CCHS team that was down to their third pitcher, their Freshman team lost to NDA by 26+ runs in the TCL tounament. Generally speaking, Varsity teams are built by the JV's and to some extant by the freshman teams. You seem to be confident there is alot of talent there and I hope your right, but I am curious as to what you gives you the confindence that you seem to have. Do they have a steller freshman class coming in? Their Last years freshman class had 2 Travel kids in it, one has been a hard core travel ball player for years and is their up and coming pitcher and the other just started playing travel her 8th grade year and was the Varsity catcher.

There are some nice Freshman coming in that can contribute in key positions. There are a couple of girls from the JV roster that can help as well. The main positions are covered.

I am not predicting a league chamionship, I just made the comment that you should not overlook them. They are a wild card for sure, but I like what I see.

The league in general is rebuilding this year. Everyone has taken hits, and has to roll the dice in certain positions, WHS is no exception.

Here is what I see... Good pitching, solid sophmore catcher with a bat that is improving, veteran OF with solid offensive #'s, stud 3rd baseman with a big bat. Middle infield and 1st base is questionable at this point. With the right moves, they look pretty good.

The league will be competitive this year.

Ok, I see what your saying, sounds promising. The TCL is rebuilding a bit this year, and the teams that arent NDA and SUA , lose some major top flight talent next year, gotta love high school softball lol ;D

Clay lost alot of seniors this year but they still have Holmes so we will say they will have to rebuild next year.

What do we know about CCHS? Other then they have a stellar coach, who is going to pitch for them?
