Thunder, the last time I checked there are 9 defensive players. Pitchers need to have a team behind them to be great. Also, great pitching teams need to score runs on offense to win.

You are missing my point. My point is that every team is filling holes. The girls they are filling with will determine whether or not the team dynamic is such they can win games. I think 5 teams will contend this year, the same 5 teams you have picked. I am just not ready to establish the order because there is alot that I do not know. I never claimed anyone has poor defense. I simply will not concede that because a team has good pitching, they are an automatic to win the league.

from my experience, lots of teams have "good pitching" these days. Now a GREAT pitcher, and there are a few out there, can over come more "holes" in your line-up. Great fastpitch games are still won 1-0, 2-1, 3-2 etc. Solid defense and timely hitting make the difference on the "local level" now to move deep into the state play offs, you need all the above with VERY GOOD pitching.

Now from what I'm getting from your post after thunder posted about CLay, NDA and SUa havening Tops in Pitching. You pretty much, to Me stated that those school ONLY have GOOD, GREAT Pitching..No Good hitters, and Noone can play Great defense no matter what potions need to be filled. I for one Have Seen A lot of these girls play Ball for years in travel . I'm confident that they can play in new positions for there H.S. teams and play well

SUA has the least # of unanswered questions. Clay lost too much to graduation. NDA is solid, should give anyone a run. Whitmer is the dark horse, if Fig makes a couple of moves they might be a spoiler. CCHS will be the team to beat next year.

As much as I would like to think that Central would be the one to beat next year, it won't happen for a few more years. They will need a dominating pitcher... SUA has a couple of them that will keep them loaded over the next few years.
Coach K will have his work cut out for him for the next few years.... what took years to tear down will not be rebuilt in a year or two. Hopefully we will see some transfers and softball players choosing CCHS over SUA and NDA. There has already been signs of revival at CCHS.
Good luck to them now that they are off of life support.
